I encourage you to see which forward out of the 1 billion that played this season ranked second worst in the NHL in GA/60.

Only Foudy, him, and Dickinson were giving up more than 4 GA/60.

He was the worst defensive forward I watched all season.
Okidoki.

xG against per 60 out of fowards that played +300mins this season he ranks 219th. High danger shots against per 60 161th.

Certain prominent Canuck center was worse than him in both.

I agree that he was far worse this year than he has previous years. All around. But it seems that people are really letting the storyline that is pushed heavy on these boards affect what they see / remember from the games.

Makes sense. It wasn’t just speed. He genuinely seemed uninterested in playing most nights, and it showed mostly on the defensive end where he was the worst defensive forward in hockey.

There’s a spot for 2020-2021 Brock Boeser on a competitive hockey team. He was genuinely effective on the walls and hitting the right lanes. Every other variation, there isn’t.

There is an argument in favor of him that will always remain that he has shown to be effective on the PP, and that he has previous chemistry with both C’s. Garland cannot make those same arguments, but he can actually drive a 3rd line offensively. Beauvillier looked terrible towards the end. I still think he’s a fine 7th forward though.

I think up until the final few weeks, the decision was obvious to move on. At least in terms of picking one of Garland/Beauvillier/Boeser to make cap space for a 3c. He seems accountable now. Whether he can work hard enough to get some dynamic aspects of his game back and improve on his effort/consistency/details defensively is a different story.

Feel for Brock. I can totally understand how he would feel guilty not being around to help out while his dad and family were struggling. Hopefully, he can truly put this all behind him this upcoming season whichever team he plays for.

This team sure has had some bad luck and trouble with hand injuries. Pearson, EP, Brock

Angry and unhappy, struggling through a poor first half that saw him hurry back from pre-season hand surgery, then miss six games when his wound reopened, Boeser scored just four times in his first 23 games.

it seems like Brock is really embracing being the netfront/bumper on the PP. His release yesterday also looked like he wasnt over thinking it and just firing it as quickly as possible which was good to see.

there have been a couple of times in preseason where I was surprised by the quickness of his relase as it has been god awful the last 2 years. He has always had the shot power but his release was too slow that it was easy to block or save

The evil troublemaker Drance has been asking to put Brock there for at least a good part of last season.

Also. I think I'll say it here too. If he keeps up his level of play, he is going to be traded before xmass.

Wait why are we trading him? It’s not like we have a glut of top 6 wingers like him. Especially with the chemistry he’s found on the second line.

Because we have too much money tied in forwards and he is not fast or physical and Alvin and JR want fast and or physical.

Idk man he looked fast enough to me last night. New Management were the ones who extended him, I don’t think they’re gonna move him if he’s really returned to form.

There is no player on this team I'd be happier for to have a game like this than Brock Boeser! If he keeps it up it changes how everyone views our team big time.
Whether he's here long term or not, he's a good guy off the ice that you hope for the best for.

If he can have a good year, gives the team options on what to do with him in the off-season. Can actually get an offer for him or at least be able to move him and be a positive asset.

You know what's better than fast and physical?

Scoring goals.

They won't trade a guy who is producing. The problem is the team has a bazillion spent on wingers who aren't really top 6 guys.

If BB is a top 6 guy again then there is zero reason to trade him.

So the idea is still to trade away bad players for good players..?

No the idea is to trade bad players for another team’s bad player who is a better fit and chance to be a good-ish player.

Canucks don’t have enough good players to be trading them away yet.
Canucks have a cap crunch with OEL's dead cap, and Petey/Hronek's new contracts. Myers comes off as does Beauv and Cole ($13 mill) but still need to find cap space somewhere to try to improve the roster in key areas.

See where they stand at the end of the season in regards to who has played well enough to garner interest around the NHL.

I mean sure, but I have a hard time believing he won’t get at least 60 points playing in the Canucks top 6 and top powerplay unit
