Leafs traded some players before that season and at the TDL that were questionable if the goal was to be a good team. I think it was a disguised tank. Get the good odds while also pretending to be competing that year. If not for McDavid they definitely made some moves to tank for Matthews.

Yeah Ill give u guys that, u did earn them.

Leafs were never a strong team anyways, Bozak was always our 1st line C to play with Kessel, so they basically kept their 1st and 2nd C's along with a couple decent wingers like JVR.

but anyways. I apologize for being wrong no need to continue talk about the Leafs in a Oilers thread

There could be something here. Campbell bought out opens up about 3M to spend on another goalie. Hart is at 3.9M so the small cap dump could even out the dollars. Problem is next year when Hart needs a raise, and then the Oilers goaltending cap situation becomes too much. Oilers may need to prioritize moving Campbell before bringing in a 3rd goalie. Which means those assets you’re taking for Hart might be gone.

Campbell is really the cross Oiler fans have to bear, isn’t he? He’s just always in the way and in the back of Oiler’s fans’ minds at this point in time

I’ve been noticing he’s often slipped in the middle of a bunch of moving parts in proposals, like the other team won’t notice and get a quick one pulled on them. Some crazed Oilers’ fan is going to Tonya Harding Campbell. I can see it now; some Hfboards oilers regular will suddenly disappear lol

Maybe not you... But there is a lot of Oiler hate on HF and the first overall comments gets brought up daily lol.

2 of those guys aren't even playing in the NHL this season.

It's absolutely true the my oil f***ed that all up. Its also absolutely true that this is starting to be ancient history. Our last first rounder was Reid Schaeffer and he's gone too lol. We didn't even have a first rounder last year. We may not this year either!

WHy do you exaggerate so much? Lit up the AHL? 29pts in 42 games is lighting up the AHL? LOL

No one is debating whether he is a productive AHL dman. He's a good AHL dman. He's just not a good NHL dman. He's a poor man's Nathan Bealieau and dumb as rocks.

I don't think the Oilers get anything more than a 3rd round pick or equivalent.

I didn't need an apology at all! As a Leafs fan you may get it even worse! And you can absolutely relate to us Oiler fans.haha. ftr.. on HF... I do think some of our hate is well earned.

The original deal could work if Edmonton could find a solid deal to get Barrie back from Nashville? Even with his flaws im sure if Edmonton got rid of Ceci and re-acquired Barrie, Oilers fans would be stoked.

4, 6, even 10 1st overall picks. Who cares, no one in Edmonton is crying about the Oilers getting top end talent that is literally inaccessible to us in any other way. We might have cried during all the crappy seasons we had to watch to earn those picks though.

He's worse than Nate. Both skate well but make terrible on-ice decisions and gets lost on the ice. I really question Broberg's intelligence. He's the D version of Jesse Pujularvi. Except worse.

If you can get a 3rd round pick, take it and run.

Beaulieu is far tougher but Broberg has more offensive skill IMO. I'd value Broberg at a 3rd round pick from a rebuilding team or a player in a similar spot.
