You draft best player available that being said I hope it’s defense cause we are weak on prospects. We wasted a 3rd on Skarek. He is not progressing and Durandeau is worthless. In a Game where almost everyone had points he had none and was a -2. Ish is small but so was samsonov. No he won’t be a samsonov but he will play in the NHL for he has a wicked, wicked shot. Dufour with a goal, Holmstrom with a sweet short handed breakaway and Raty with 2 assists. We are loaded on offense. Need to stay out of the penalty box. Can catch all the goals on Bridgeport Islanders twitter.

Have always been intriqued by Ruslan Iskhakov.
Looks like he is off to a fast start.
3g 5a in 6 games which is already out of his norm wherever he has played.
#17 in the league in scoring. Tied for 10th sounds even better.
2 points per game in his last 3
Listed at 5’9 165lbs at 22 years old.
Something tells me staying healthy will be a challenge.
I noticed he only played 25 games last year in Germany and don’t recall the injury.

If he can survive this season in the AHL maybe he is just one of those oddball cases (or first oddball case) of a small forward who comes from overseas and lights the lamp on the smaller ice surface. Familiar surroundings coming from 2 seasons at UCONN

Could it be someone on this team is making this kid look better than he is?

I wish he had Samsonovs speed or Afinogenovs but he does not. That being said he has an nhl shot. Can he work on speed?

The reporter who covered the team seems to disagree with the "experts" on here who probably never watched Ishakov live or via stream.

"You want to talk about fast, this 2018 second-round pick (43rd) can absolutely fly on the ice. And when I say fly, I’m talking like a cannonball after being shot off, particularly on the rush. During the 1-on-1 portion, Iskhakov was past the defenseman with ease. Besides the wheels, he has an incredible set of hands, which makes him a tough player to defend."

I watched Iskhakov at UConn. He had some good moments. Wasn’t the same at UConn after the head injury, and I haven’t seen him play since.

Yup. It’s a bus league.
That’s just wrong then, should have played tomorrow, now Durandeau with a goal on the PP. Been following the baby Isles for 21 years. Never seen them so deep on offense. If Bellows would have cleared they would of postponed the rest of the season and just handed us the Calder Cup. Shishnikov will clear and he will be one more weapon on what is already a potent offens. And Koivulla is not even playing. We are an offense juggernaut. Give credit to Lou. Raty (2nd), Ishnikov (2nd) Dufour (5th) round picks.

What I said earlier this year and I’m sticking to it.

Isles Prospect Talk 2020-21 Pt. III
He is extremely talented and his skating hasn’t really stood out either way, he has knack for offense and he is legit dangerous on PP thus far. He can really shoot puck for a little guy. He reminds me a bit of Sergei Samsonov in his size and lack of top end speed. He also isn’t afraid of traffic so we will see but he has another three points tonight to be at 11 in 7 games. I’ll say this thus far this is a really good Bridgeport team, our young players have really made this a dynamic offense thus far. Bolduc has taken enormous strides thus far, he keeps going he is going to be the guy to take Salo/Aho spot sooner than later.

And they have Terry and he’s not even playing right?

Did they drive the 240 miles from Springfield to Allentown. If they did that’s just wrong. Anyway Ish with an assist so far, 2-1 baby Isles.
That’s not even that bad of a drive.

It’s essentially the same amount of time that it would take to fly from Long Island down to Florida, and then get off the plane and get the bussed to the hotel.
