Not sure if this has been mentioned before but noticed you mentioned point pct….With that I would also have to guess their roster turnover (considering the Islanders problems probably leads the league as well. I would say Thompson is doing a tremendous job considering.

Wow

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but noticed you mentioned point pct. It is pretty weird BP leads the league in games played. Not doing the math exactly but they have played at least 6-7 games more than the league average. But..but..but...they suck

BP wins game on the 8th, 5-1, over Charlotte.

Holmstrom with 1 assist, and was a +2.
Skarek with the W. 35 shots, 34 saves.
Koivula should add some sandpaper to his game. That's the only thing missing, IMO.
Nothing from Bolduc.
Wotherspoon with 21 PIM's!
"nothing from Bolduc"
not gonna mention his breakup of a breakway from a Charlotte player? That was pretty notable

wasn't on the stat sheet, so no. not gonna mention it.

and apparently, summarizing a stat sheet is a punishable offence? sorry, i didn't know... :sarcasm:

Another pretty good effort coming back down 2 to get point and lose in shootout. Schneider pretty good, he has played so much better lately and gives confidence he can still provide depth as third goalie at least. Koivula/MDC are a combo, dangerous top line Ahlers for sure and have good chemistry with each other. Bardreau to me could replace Clutterbuck if isles go that direction next year, excellent penalty killer and plays his butt off every shift. Wotherspoon the way he has played has chance at NHL even if it’s only as depth guy. Thompson gets a lot of needless hate from this fan base but with healthy roster as they have had for most lately this is a good Ahl team especially if they get goaltending like they have for most part recently.

It was pretty sweet. Holmstrom’s got some silky mitts.

For your viewing pleasure…

That Vrana comp isn't a bad one tbh. One of the few times I could agree with Craig Button. He ain't gonna be amazing but he certainly is a decent enough winger. we need him next season

nice! after the initial draft of Holmstrom, i was disappointed. i wanted Tomasino. slowly warming up to Holmstrom. i didn't mind the comparison to Bailey, but was never a big fan.

starting to think that he can have a better career than Bailey. that would be nice!

thx. when was the last time that BP had great goaltending? nothing is more disheartening than working your butt off, and the other team comes down and gets an easy one. hopefully Skarek keeps improving.

so, a bit encouraged by the boys in BP. good to see some life down there.

Anything is possible and I can only hope you’re right.

Now that I’ve gotten those pleasantries out of the way, here’s this from a non-Bailey fan.

Bailey has been a solid top 6 forward for more than a decade. He has over 500 career points in the NHL.

If Holmstrom even approaches Bailey’s career performance, that pick will be a home run. Thus far, he’s progressed slowly but frankly hasn’t been a revelation. Time will tell.

encouraging that Holmstrom is producing, but remember MDC produced a lot at the AHL level as well...

I confess I've seen little of Holmstrom. But I get the feeling he has a better hockey IQ and sense than MDC. MDC plays hard is always a half-second too early or late to the puck in an offensive situation. Holmstrom seems to make better decisions. Just my .02.

Holmstrom is smart player, he is going to play in nhl just because if that but he has good skills and plays a workman like game for a guy who has good skill. He is going to be a guy who is talented enough to see time with Barzal but also plays a good checking game to play with Pageau as well. He is only a kid really with two messed up seasons in Ahl under his belt so this is first real foray into North American hockey.
