Anyone seen Skarek play this year? Has he drastically improved or is he just benefitting from the first decent Bridge team we've had in years?

I remember watching him in a preseason game this year, and he looked really good. Seemed like he was in control, and was calm in net. Haven't seen him at all in Bridgeport, but I liked that sample from him.

He’s improved a lot, the coaching is getting through to him. He is much more in control and looks like a confident kid again like he did when we drafted him.

That great news, hopefully he can take up the backup mantle in a few years.

If Skarek can continue his upward trend, he could be a decent #2 goalie behind Sorokin after Varly’s contract is up.

Golyshev seems to be tearing it up at the Bridge. I find him intriguing, might have something there if he can get his game to match the speed of the NHL
He is too good for AHL, he is going to be here soon. He is very energetic and quick, for small guy likes to hit also. He always finishes checks thus far. He had good night points wise tonight but Holmstrom looks like a different player this year, just seems stronger and confident. He and Koivula seem to have some chemistry.

Good to read that BP is doing well and getting contributions from key prospects. I'm intrigued to see how Bolduc versus Salo goes. I can't really see Golyshev replacing anyone, unless someone like Palms continues to not score.

Where is Golyshev slotting in on the Islanders though? Unless a trade/injury happens he'll be in Bridgeport.

He’s not taking anyone’s job in Trotz’s plan for his 4 lines. Unless Parise stops skating.

If Parise’s back continues to tighen up I can see Golyshev getting the nod over Bellows.

Maybe something like…?

With this being the first 82 game season in awhile, I expect a number of injuries at some point.
