Nonis. Fulltime gm of Leafs.

Wouldn't it make a bit more sense to bring in a fresh face? Someone with a new plan? But who knows... I guess Nonis may have that.

I wonder if this was precipitated by Nonis threatening to walk... maybe he was fed up with working with Burke and senior brass likes Nonis more than Burke. If that's the case, I can't wait for Burke's first press conference.

Sources say no recent incident led to Burke's firing. New ownership did not like his "style".

DUMB, extremely stupid reason.

I have no use for this franchise under current ownership. I hope they go another 50 years without cup.

Congratz leafs fans !!!

I have no idea if this was a good move, but my friend is a rabid leaf fan and he is apparently singing and dancing after he heard this news.

Two very Happy People in this city today:

Don Cherry
Francois Allaire

If Luongo deal was quashed by Burkes handling of Allaire - that would be amazing

Agreed, I don't want Luongo but glad Burke is gone in a way and not glad in another way. Wanted him gone after the season if they don't do well.

I can't believe TSN just said that MLSE would want someone more like Bryan Colangelo running this team. BC is currently one of the worst GMs in the entire NBA. I don't care how nice his suits are or how nice his smile is at pressers, he has done NOTHING for this team, and actually made it worse.

Wait, wasn't the hiring of Burke (by Peddie and co) because Burke was "a Colangelo type of GM"? I seem to recall that idea punted around by MLSE when they canned JFJ

I don't like Tom Anselmi being involved in the assessment of our management, the guy ran TFC into the ground
