the habs would have the most expensive rhd in the league. i think a weber for seabrook trade is the fairest deal possible
not really. weber's contract is longer and more expensive than seabrook's and weber probably won't be a top-30 defender for very much longer. the habs save themselves 1 million a year for 9 years and get a better chance at a higher draft pick with seabrook in the lineup. This is insane, Weber is still a top 30 defender, at least.
Other than the fact that Seabrock is barely an NHL player anymore and Weber is still a top pairing guy?the habs would have the most expensive rhd in the league. i think a weber for seabrook trade is the fairest deal possible
Weber>>>Seabrook with similar contracts.the habs would have the most expensive rhd in the league. i think a weber for seabrook trade is the fairest deal possible
I don't think you understand how contracts work.not really. weber's contract is longer and more expensive than seabrook's and weber probably won't be a top-30 defender for very much longer. the habs save themselves 1 million a year for 9 years and get a better chance at a higher draft pick with seabrook in the lineup.
I posted about this a while ago, but it was including a pick and a good prospect going to Montréal way as well.the habs would have the most expensive rhd in the league. i think a weber for seabrook trade is the fairest deal possible
i would say a good prospect and seabrook for weber.I posted about this a while ago, but it was including a pick and a good prospect going to Montréal way as well.
um how am i wrong?I don't think you understand how contracts work.
well weber may not be a top-pairing guy for much longer. who knows he could follow the same path as seabrookOther than the fact that Seabrock is barely an NHL player anymore and Weber is still a top pairing guy?
If there's any contract that's untradeable it's the Brent Seabrook contract, Not only would Stan Bowman need to retain at least $2 million or so and that probably wont do it. He'd probably need to send a decent pick to the acquiring GM as well that's how bad it is.
This doesnt make sense, unless you're new to the NHLi would say a good prospect and seabrook for weber.
ntl would also get something of value with seabrook, maybe like a good prospectWeber>>>Seabrook with similar contracts.
how? the habs aren't competing and shouldn't be competing. they need a rebuild. getting seabrook and a good prospect in exchange for weber gives the habs a better chance at a higher draft pick and start the rebuildThis doesnt make sense, unless you're new to the NHL
my bad, i read your post as seabrook for weber and a prospectntl would also get something of value with seabrook, maybe like a good prospect
um how am i wrong?
alright no worries there.my bad, i read your post as seabrook for weber and a prospect
He may not be a top pairing defender forever but until he’s a healthy scratch he will have a lot more value than seabrookwell weber may not be a top-pairing guy for much longer. who knows he could follow the same path as seabrook
This is the detail that I think a lot of people miss.Weber never had any intention to play the last 3 years of his contract, which is why the salary is 1M a year. He'll have pocketed 107M of the 110M of his contract by then. Cap recapture is Nashville's problem so it doesn't matter for any other team anyway. His contract isn't nearly as bad as people think it is.
He has 4 or 5 seasons remaining after this one and will be better than Seabrock until the end.
