No because I think it's a good pickup and I keep reasonable expectations. Not make unfounded and ridiculous statements like DeangeNO's is a great enforcer on the backline or a 50 point sure shot for next year. Or that Zibanejad is only a 20 ft player like some of the posters like you have stated. Also that Neil Pionk is Torey Krug lite.
I've only ever seen people refer to DeAngelo as Torey Krug-lite.

Pionk is looking more like not a NHL caliber player. I struggle to understand why the coaching staff gives him so much ice time, he's looked worse the longer he's been in the NHL.

What the hell is the DeAngeNO supposed to be? What is that? Is that a nickname? What does it mean? What's the joke there, aside from just inserting the word no into his name?

Fast is a better play-driver, Vladdy is a better ****-stirrer. 6 on one side, half dozen on the other
The thing is that I am am not sure that Vlad is here long term. I originally thought that I would love to see a Lemieux-Andersson-Vlad line. But for now, Vlad may be better off trying a hand with Strome, while Fast should be on the third line.

So if we like Fast instead of Howden we get the LAF line or the ALF line. Anyone remember Alf on tv? One of his lines speaks volumes on our current rebuild...

Hmmm, immediate gratification versus long term security...I'M THINKING, I'M THINKING!" ALF
I like you.

Torey Krug lite would still be a pretty good player tho.

“[Playing with an edge] is part of my DNA and is a big part of who I am as a player and why I was probably sought after,” Brendan Lemieux said.

in 53 NHL games, including his nine goals and two assists in 44 games this year with a .243 shooting percentage in 7:25 ice time. Doubling ice time should bring him to 20 goals a year

I don't know if you've all watched any of his fights, but he does the same thing Avery used to do. He doesn't just go for the head. He goes for the ribs too. Sign of a true pest...

From 2007-2010 Avery scored 58 5v5 points for 1.91 pts/60. He absolutely was a top 6 player. He didn't get the PP time and thus didn't put the huge numbers. Same thing for MArchand in the beginning of his career. He's not any better 5v5 now then he was 8 years ago. But he gets another 25 pts by being PP1.

He was a mid 6. Dallas wanted him as a top 6. Didn't work out great.

Then the Ranger faithful

WE WANT AVERY! ---> Waivers

soon turned to

FIRE RENNEY! ---> Tort's Kinda Guys

And then I guess we didn't want Avery as much a year and a half later.

Let's be very careful to temper expectations. That shooting percentage is going to come way down. Half his goals are wraparounds.

Pionk was a darling around here last year with that small sample size with people saying he could be a very good 2nd pairing NHL defenseman. I foresaw this folly and began calling called him Stionk. I took some heat for it but in the end I was right. Now with Tony DeangeNO mania is running wild and posters are proposing 8 year deals they will be wrong again. I'm not even sure Tony DeangeNO is MDZ lite at this point. Posters constantly champion these sub par to average players on a very porous Rangers team.

But now that I actually like this Brendan Lemieux acquisition people can't deal with the fact I am right the majority of the time so they are gonna come with the unfunny . I'm not the only one right their are thousands of a astute Ranger fans who have been dealing with this "fanboy" mentality in overrating our young players. I've seen this hysteria with the losing of Cam Talbot, Anthony Duclair, Oscar Lindberg , Raanta.

The constant conspiracy theories of why there faves don't get minutes. The coach doesn't like them excuses. it's almost comical. I don't mind taking heat for being outspoken and dubbing these players with nicknames because the " I told you so's" in the end bring me so much glee.

With that said. I like the Brendan Lemieux acquisition .
