I'd keep Gallagher. He's one of those guys who made NHL on hard work. He was a 7th round pick. You need that mix with all young players coming in.

He's been quiet all summer. I was wondering when he was going to start his media campaign to become captain.

One one hand I definitely agree with you. On the other hand I think he knows he’s done as an offensive threat and he’ll be hated for years because of his contract. Probably feeling the heat already.

Gally is done. And he’s a whiner. If somebody gives you a Bread loaf for him and his contract, you take it and run!
When asked on Campbell vs Gallo to pick between Marty st Louis or Vinnie Lecavalier he answered “I’m gonna go with Marty because I’m hoping to get on the power play”..

Gallagher is delusional, he thinks he’s good and that we wanna see him on the power play.. I’ve never seen a more useless player in my lifetime on the power play.

So you want players who think they are not good and don't have the drive to want to be on the powerplay? Seems you don't think these things over before wordsalading.

I want players who know what they can and can’t do on the ice. Everyone knows Gallagher has no business ever seeing a power play ever again. Those of us with eyes that is. Gallagher watched enough video of himself on the power play to know that he doesn’t belong there.

The power play is for skilled players who can pass and shot, he can do neither. He’s so brutal to watch.

Gallagher was always much better at ES than on the PP.

I expect Gallagher to bounce back a little, though I don't expect him to ever regain the form he had in the peak of his career, the Desharnais and Danault years. He's older and has accumulated a lot of injuries.

Once he does that, I think that Hughes should look into trading him. I think that a lot of teams will consider Gallagher in a trade if the retention is high enough.

Gallagher is a useful little warrior for a playoff-bound team on a 3rd-4th line for sure. But he's way overpaid for that, that's the issue and why the Habs will regret this for a long time if he's not traded/bought out.

I guess there's about a 1% chance he has a Dustin Brown-like resurrection, but I have no faith in that with his hand injuries and slowness.

some of you guys need to go back & watch some tape.

when Gally is healthy he plays his game 15 ft around the net. he plays a hardnosed honest game. He gives the Habs & the fans 100% every shift.
our young core will do well to witness the grit and determination of this undersized 5th rounder..... who knows how to pot 30

Dude he’s completely useless in the playoffs.. Literally does nothing well and everything poorly. He’s done and his contract is an albatross.

You watch some tape of the last three seasons. He has been absolutely dreadful. I say this as the biggest fan of Gally pre-him sucking and sulking.

Now hes a liability on the ice, is overpaid by avout 4 millions, has a bad entitled attitude, is hated by refs and he takes stupid ass penalties on top of all that.

The worst part is that he thinks he’s valuable and wants to play on the PP. I heard him saying on Gallo vs Campbell that he hopes Marty plays him on the PP…

He should know he sucks, and he should know that we know he sucks. This won’t end well, he doesn’t belong on this new team.

I’m curious as to what people think he will teach our rookie or lead by example… so are we trying to teach them to waste your energy on the ice without any positive results? If the rookies are seeing what I’m seeing from him then I would rather them not see him at all. I don’t care about his Karakter that Bergevin was so obsessed with. Skill/Speed >>>>>>> Karakter.

You know what cranks young players up? Watching skilled teammates kill it. Not watching your teammates kill themselves for no results.

Ummmmm, “hello McFly”......shits been weird for most everyone for the past 3 years, ?

Many of you think in hyperboles, first you loved Gallagher, now you hate him. A little bit of measure wouldn't hurt. I never loved Gallagher, I always thought he lacked talent and speed, even when he was good. But now he's done? He plays a role and will continue to do so, he never relied neither on speed nor talent, but on resiliency and brains (positionning). Sure I wish we could throw away his contract, but you won't convice me he's as useless as you say unless he sucks again this season.

All heart, soul and 100 % effort all the time but his body is done.If they could get somebody to take on his contract would be a miracle or very costly

So much hate for a once beloved Hab. He says he's healthy for the first time in a long time... let's see if that's true. I'd like to think he's earned the benefit of the doubt. A healthy Gally is a unique player. 6.5 mil is a high price point - but if he goes 25 & 25 this year, I couldn't care less about what he's making.

The Gallagher hate is so bizarre and yet so typical of this bipolar fan base. Sure his contract sucks but that's on previous management. Gallagher has busted his balls for this organization and will continue to do so. In an era of prima donnas, Gally has never cheated on a shift. He was always one of the better 5-on-5 wingers in the league until injuries have hampered him the last two years largely because he laid it on the line every game for so many years. Hopefully with a longer offseason and the NHL back to a regular schedule, Gally can have a bounce back season.

The fact hes busted his balls for absolutely no result shouldnt change anything to the way we perceive him.
