As I have said, I can see our bottom six being completely different next season. Wouldn't be shocked either if its a "youth movement."

We have too many redundant players. (hagelin, miller, zucc) are all speed but are small and offer not much else, though at least Hagelin does good on the forecheck. if we're gonna keep Zucc on top of the other 2, we need to bring in some tough guys to balance it out (clowe? he might take a discount, Bickell, horton, people like that). simply put, we need to get tougher to play against and add more skill.

This is good if it's just players like Hrivik, Lindberg and maybe Miller. Bad if our entire bottom 6 is going to be all prospects. Need some veteram leadership down there. I liked Asham and want him back, but who knows if that'll happen.

Miller isn't anything like either of those players.

Dunno why he would, though. There isn't a franchise player rule in the NHL. Henrik is the team, and knows it. He knows Sather would be nuts to let him go. You can bet his agent knows this, too. Baltimore had to give Flacco an outrageous contract because the GM knew how the fanbase would react to not re-signing a guy who had just won the Super Bowl.

It's not ideal for the cap, but NYR paying Henrik 7 million per is not unfair. Look how hard it is for other NHL teams to land quality goaltending. Philly and the disaster that was Bryzgalov. Ect.

Who said it was unfair? I have seen people here propose Henrik take a pay cut. The Rangers have always paid Lundqvist very well. The contract he signed in 2008 is still market 5 years later.

Impending RFA Cal Hagelin on re-signing with #NYR: "I love it here...this is the place to be"; fellow RFA Derek Stepan: "I want to be here"

I hope Mash is that guy.
I feel that he is, but more for the Pack. Not NYR.

This. A youth movement would be a good idea if it were for guys like Hrivik, Lindberg, Fast, Miller and would need a vet or two. Asham is easily replaceable, however.

We need a few bruisers on this team. Bickell would be a good addition.

How can the Rangers keep Richards with Lundqvist, McD and someone else I think Stepan due to be unrestricted free agents?

Lundqvist does deserve whatever he gets paid...He carries the emotion on his sleeves and it pisses me off when he get bad losses.

Guts of this organization there, we need to help him out

Neither McDonagh or Stepan will be UFAs next summer.

Can somebody please tell Nash what good means? What's really frightening is Nash is serious.

This comment to me is worse than Drury saying that a loss before the Christmas break wouldn't ruin his Christmas. If Nash thinks 1 goal in 12 games in the playoffs is good what the hell is bad? What's 2 goals to Nash? A fantastic playoff run.

I like Nash but this is complete garbage....

Haha what a ****ing joke.

1 goal in 12 games

I played good.

****ing lol.

same difference, they are both fast and small. Team is too easy to play against. but wrong thread for this.

I don't understand how it's the same difference lol, one is small and fast while the other is small and not really fast. So they are both smaller in stature, that's about it.

i hope they trade him.. he has been horrible.. no intensity from him at all.. some great player he is... the best players bring it up during the playoffs. he didnt. heck Brassard first playoff turned out to be a great one.. Nash seems lazy to me at times. i wish the NYR traded for Bobby Ryan instead at least he has a contract that is cheaper.

In fairness he didn't score at a goal per 10 game pace. But obviously he's not being traded regardless at this point.
Sample size is of course tiny. Also his shooting percentage was 2.4%. But of course those analytical principles are ignored by Kershaw when it comes to Nash...

Exactly. Hank's hometown discount is, "I'll stay in New York if you pay me."

Hank would get 12m on the open market. Only Sid and Malkin would get more.

If he signs for 7m, that is 5m yearly he gives up.

Some people think you can double the amount of talent we had on the roster this season, it is the opposite. It's very rare that a team can have the depth and top talent.

The diffrence is that other teams find ways to get something from cheaper players, but we don't...

People in NY will look for scapegoats. "It was Nash/Hank/Zuccs fault!"

It's always the same thing in NY. We never try do something better than others. Think succes will be given to us. Despite not having put in the work, when we fail it's one or two or three players fault. JJ was hanged after every season in NY. He carried a worthless team by himself to the POs. What did Nash do? On many nights it was him against the other team...

Advanced stats only, and only when they fit his argument!

Sadly the majority of the time they prove to be nothing but a barometer to measure individual players without taking into consideration that hockey is a team game played on ice not paper.

obviously not, but he scares me on how lazy he is. Better rebound.

If the wrist and back issues are true it would explain his low shooting % and the stiffness in his skating, looked lazy but I don't think he is. Not an excuse but it is what it is.
