Jesus, why are the CBJ fans so sensitive over this. Most rush to point out a 1 to 1 comparison of players traded when every trade is much bigger than that and its affect on the team.
The classic example of this is how Flyers fans talk about how they clearly won the Voracek/Carter and Richards/Simmonds trade
Yes, comparing the players 1 for 1 in production, the Flyers won. However, since those trades, the chemistry of the flyers has gone downhill while the chemistry of the end team for both of those trade (LAK) resulted in two cups.
Now who knows what CBJ would have looked like had they held on to the Anisimovs/Danos/Johansens, might be better, might be worse. Its all speculative, its a different formula and different chemistry.
But, since they acquired Saad, they got Richards fired, had a terrible year, then traded Jones for Johansen, and still they dont look like a solid team IMO.
All the improvement this year is much attributed to Wennberg taking a step forward and Bob playing well again. Those two trades but a big hit on their center depth, which is crucial, in order to address the blue line (without getting a real #1D in return) and help on the wing
