Gibbons deserved the first star. Ottawa was missing Pinelli and some others and still the game went to a shootout and only because of Gibbons.

The top line has more goals then the rest of the team combined, the other lines aren't really creating scoring chances either which is more concerning. Been recently disappointed with some of the D play in their own end.

Last game for Ivank's suspension. Guessing since it's Saginaw we'll be seeing Gibbons going back to back. I can't see starting their called up BUG for his first start against them.
Funny I was think something similar for which goalie we go with today. Tough 3 in 3 for us. Wonder after last night’s W if we finally give Oke a night off and rest him for Sunday.

I had to look it up but I see the similarities. I think there's a more of a chance Sag plays their BUG then the Steelheads.

Which would you take off the top line and who would you replace him with?
until the remaining OA spot is filled by Allard or Swick or ...
Misa-MacDonell-Martone
Zidlicky-Karmiris-Rehkopf
Zebeski-JVV-Vaculik/Chiarot

At least have a bit of muscle, offence and defence with Karmiris
MacDonell-Rehkopf-Martone
JVV-Karmiris-Zidlicky
Zebeski-Misa-Vaculik/Chiarot

Interesting, I could see the first choice being more effective. I've always noticed Zidlicky and wondered how he'd fare in the top 6, plus it could get more of the production Misa should provide.

Also interesting about Allard and Swick, I've been wondering who they target as the third OA.

With free rent for 10 years I'm guessing 10 years.
Wow a long time with some empty seats. For their sake the best case scenario is winning the OHL this year and maybe averaging around 3000-3500 fans in the playoffs and maybe they can build off of that in the coming years. If they have 1400 fans for the next 10 years I don’t see it lasting 10 years

That's hoping, I remember work for the Battalion the year after they went to the OHL finals in 2010, one of the games the following year had the lowest attendance ever, that after Hodgson was back playing if I recall correct.

Just not a good area for junior hockey. Wonder where they’d go if it didn’t work out again. Would love to see Belleville get another chance at a team.

The demographics just never worked in their favour on top of the fact that you had the IceDogs, Battalion, Majors, and Gens all within an hour of each other. Hopefully they can get a foothold this time around with just them and the Gens in the area. I grew up in Brampton but as a kid I saw more IceDog games growing up (Step brothers employer had season tickets so we got a few tickets each year).

Misa-Karmiris-Chiarot ...I feel bad for Karmiris, separate Rehkopf-Martone already.
Agreed. 9 games in and Misa doesn’t have a goal yet? It’s past time to shake up the lines.
I would put Karmiris with Rehkopf and Zebeski as line 1
Misa MacDonnel Martone as line 2
But either line could be line 1.

The Chiarot experiment on line 2 has not worked out. I liked this idea a lot at the start of the season but he just hasn’t stepped forward as I expected he would. I think he goes back to the 4th line.

Zidlicky Van Volsen Witkowski as line 3
Vaculik Patton Chiarot as line 4

In terms of proximity, that doesn’t add up. Down the 401 in a much lower populated area, we have Kitchener, Guelph, London, Branford and Owen Sound all within shooting distance..
Check highlights from time to time and one thing I noticed is your poor defensive zone coverage is too much for your offence to overcome. Hope you can get it fixed and make a run, build some excitement about the team, and hopefully stabilize the GTA for the O.
No pressure! :)

First I don't leave in Brampton anymore, have since 06, last game I interned for the Battalion was the 10-11 season I believe. So been a while. I now love in Sudbury and take my kids to as many games as I can.

Second it's more than just the proximity that affects the teams. The demographics don't lend themselves as easily as London and kitchener.

It will take more than a run to build stability for the OHL in the gta outside of the Gens. The year I interned for the Battalion was following their run to the finals against Guelph I believe and they still had trouble selling actually having a game with their lowest ever attendance.
