Confirmed with Link: Brady to Fla: 9oa, 25oa, 2029 1st, and a 2nd

He gave them 4 teams. He had a NMC.

Let's see what we do with these picks and free-agency.

If there are no other moves, yeah, I'll agree with you.

But it's premature. Teams will value 9th OA in a trade.

Also I'm taking this as a personal win. I feel very validated. I spent so many posts arguing why we should trade Brady sooner than later and why we could be better without him. Condolences to @Golden_Jet .

I don't have time to go through every post, but if you could link me to the story which specifies Brady's demands I'd appreciate it.

We better get someone extremely impactful.. or we are heading into another rebuild

Sens were a top 3-5 team in the league last year analytically.

We were only the 8th seed because of our 31st ranked goaltending.

We can afford to take a bit of a step back without falling into a rebuilding scenario.

Still I'm sure Staios will add a top 6 LW now that he has the assets to do so.

I feel like there's some misplaced anger towards the team here that should be directed at Brady. He wasn't staying even though Staios actually assembled a good team around him. At that point I don't think its viable to try to win for the next two years with the circus hanging over everyone's head. And we saw what a checked out Brady looked like in the playoffs this year: a pathetic embarrassment.
The dude gave a list containing the cup winners of the past four years and also Minnesota.

Sorry to tell everybody the truth, but the man is a bonafide scrub. He wants the spotlight, but never seems to turn up the heat once the spotlight isactually on him. Brady will be a lot happier in a market where he can be the B+ star, do his little podcast with his big brother, and ride coattails to a cup without having to actually lead. He'll be on the nightly highlights every so often for a hit or a fight, but he'll never hold the 'C' again and he'll never be the guy the reporters line up to interview every night.

I'm in shock so it's hard to know where to direct my anger not knowing the complete story, but as of now, it's directed at Staios because I can literally see the pieces coming back and not a single one of them is worth close to Brady's value.

If it comes out that Brady forced this to happen and there was literally no other option, I'll split my fury 50/50.

You overrate Brady's value. Barely a PPG player who is immature and can't play defense.

He'll be great on the Panthers as the 5th or 6th most important player.

Him as a captain wasn't leading us anywhere.

This had to be done.

Also he 100% forced it to happen. Like I said, his family ditched Ottawa 2 seasons ago.

Again, if he had become bad in the room or demanded a trade, I understand you need to trade him ASAP, but this return is incredibly bad for where the Sens are at right now. I don't get why some people are happy with it unless they're good with another 5-7 years of futility.
I think the people happy are just happy that we got some decent assets back, when he essentially forced his way into Florida. It doesn't feel completely unfair I guess.

Not a bad return. Brady is overrated anyway.

This trade will be better or worse pending how good Florida is. If they still stink and miss the playoffs, those will be decent picks. If they rebound and become a top 5 or 10 cup contender, those picks will be squeezed worse.

Reporters had nothing to do with it.

Brady's a big boy. His wife is a big girl. They wanted no part of this city. She moved back to NJ well before any of the political stuff become an issue.
It doesn’t matter. Claire Hanna pushed things. Elliotte pushed things. Sports is a place for fascism. They caused division. Had the hockey world talking about him leaving nonstop.

You want to talk to the team or our players positivity only.

So realistically - what can we expect from the Sens this year?? FA signing to replace? Rebuild? Retool?

We can trade the picks for guys that can.

We could also sign UFAwith the 8 mil that opened up.

I'll wait till the dust settles before getting upset about it, the value is good.

Who tf can we get with a #9 OA in a mediocre draft that could replace Brady? It's not like we have anything else we can spare to include in this hypothetical trade.

And lol, no, we're not getting any sort of elite top line wingers through UFA.

This iS a disaster of epic proportions.

Interesting it’s a 2029 1st round pick, Florida in 4 years could be an ugly scene. Might be an EK65 type of thing again

I don't disagree.

I would've preferred them asking Brady why he's played like dogshit for the last 2 seasons.

I think the value is actually pretty good for a guy who apparently wasn't staying, has an NMC, only has two years left, and and has been battling injuries the last couple of years. IMO the last time we've seen elite power forward Brady Tkachuk was 2023-24.

Good riddance, he's become less of a wrecking ball and his defensive play was always brutal, never like having a captain who can't kill penalties.

Now the hard part will be replacing his 22 goals with 8M and multiple draft picks.

They'll probably go after Tuch if available in free agency, but realistically they'll probably trade for someone like McTavish or DeBrusk to fill the hole at LW.

Will still have a very good chance at making the playoffs, even in a strong East.

Dude I am not overrating shit, Brady is one of the most valued power forwards in the league no matter what your bias may tell you. Florida just became unstoppable.

From what I've heard, Brady wanted out and a lot of the guys on the team also wanted him gone, because they saw that he was no longer invested.

"Ewing theory" in effect here.
