I can’t see how Brady comes back if they miss the playoffs, i don’t think he’d allow it.

His NTC kicks in this summer and when you see what happened with Matthew and Calgary being destroyed by his loss you can’t risk going into the summer with an athlete who can take full control of the process

Ultimately, though, Brady won’t have full control. His brother was a year away from being a UFA. That gave him the hammer.

Even with a NMC, Brady could say “send me to Florida” and Ottawa could respond with “nah you signed a contract play it out”.

If his first extension negotiation was anything to go by, Staios absolutely cannot let Tkachuk get full NMC protection if he thinks there's a decent chance at him demanding a trade not long after.

The Tkachuk family are notoriously difficult to negotiate with and fight for every advantage they can get. Wouldn't like our chances of Brady accepting a trade to a non-ideal destination if it came to it.

I know Brady misses his backchecks every once in awhile, but I really can’t fathom that anyone can seriously believe this is why we are where we are.

We don’t suck because our top 2 forwards, pacing 102 pts and 96 pts, aren’t good enough.

And if we want to come after our high-end guys who aren’t performing as they should, we can start with Sanderson and Ullmark. This team is in a different place if their elite dman and elite goalie are playing like it.

Brady isn't the reason why we're here.

but having an inconsistent, mentally fragile team, that is spotty defensively being led by the most mentally fragile and worst defensive effort player on the roster isn't the road to success.

Thank god you’re not GM, Sens team would be a bunch of sissies.
You’ve obviously never played the game on skates before.

Yes, but these are the Tkachuk’s, they get their way, always have, and it’ll be no different with Brady.

I remember Keith Takchuk leaving Winnipeg and when a Takchuk makes a decision versus your organization you never win, your team suffers for it.

So Ottawa May be right and tough with Brady, but it’ll end up being wrong and toxic

meh turris, stone, spezza made their teammates better too.

but okay our guys aren't good enough to be in the top roles they are.

so what do we do? keep running the same top end?
Stone and Spezza are fairly close to Hall of Fame talents themselves, so that's also a high bar to match.

You don't need to ship out your best players because they're not good enough. You can hunt for better players while holding onto the best players on your team. We traded David Runblad to get Turris. We drafted Stone in the 6th round. Think about how much better this team would be if we held on to Stone? But we traded him away because we wanted to rebuild.

Brady haters I hope you’re watching tonight
Right. The first goal was a deflection on the PP, the 2nd goal was him cheating for offense per usual. He was way ahead of the other Sens forwards, almost at the Ducks blue line when Jensen passed it to him. If it hadn't been Jensen/Chabot back there who seem to be the only D that can clear the D zone, it could've easily gone the other way (hemmed in) with Brady nowhere in sight.

Some of us never said he couldn't score, just that he does so mostly on the PP or cheating for offense. I'm surprised the other forwards aren't all doing the same (cheating). How can he expect his teammates to play the right way when he doesn't do it himself? You know, 5 man units, play your man, etc. If he wasn't the captain, it wouldn't be as much of a big deal, but he is. That's my only knock on him.

Clearing norris cap space would be huge for us.

Norris is def not impossible to trade he has some value. Time for the GM to do his job

Trading Brady our leading goal scorer does not help us. Trading the guy making 8mill and is behind Gaudette in goal scoring when thats all you bring is def the move
Norris plays a better 200ft game than either Brady or Gaudette. Maybe if he cheated for offense more he'd have more points as well. Gaudette has been working on his details but he's still nowhere near Norris. Brady is either not interested or doesn't have a clue how to be a 200-ft player.
