Curious, when did he say that ? Do you have a link ?
Was on the radio. I think 91.9 , so it is probably somewhere on their site. I listen to it in my car so, hard for me to find a link. I’m sure he hasn’t done 50 interviews on there since the draft, so might not be hard to find.

I think quick was a great goalie. But you have a better argument to say that his career in total was better than price than to say that his peak was better than price.

Actually, Price's peak is the strength of his greatness argument rather than his weakness.

Also. not to discredit quick, but the kings were such a finely tuned machine back then that they were able to plug in goalies like scrivens and budaj, and they were also able to spit out some really good numbers too.
Quicks peak was very short but he was out of his mind in 2011-12.

69gp 1.95 gaa .929 sv% and then 1.14 and .946 in the playoffs in 20 games.

Price has never put up a regular season & playoffs like that

Quick and price were my two favourite goalies of this generation (top 4 fav goalies all time are Brodeur, price, belfour and quick).

Quick put up the best playoff performance from a goalie I have ever seen. Better than 2011 Thomas and better than 2003 Giguere.

Even then, if I had to pick price or quick at their peak, I'm taking Price. I'd be curious to see what quick would have looked like infront of those horrid Habs teams that price had to carry

Much better to have Kopi and Quick than Price and Lats. No question LOL.

Price from 2014 to 2015 was the best goaltending I've seen in a long long time. I know there was the krieder play in between but his play during this time basically gave him the best goaltender on the planet reputation amongst his peers for the next few years.

Quick was fantastic as well.

You mean the same year? Because he's done both, only the Kings were a powerhouse and Price did it with teams bleeding chances.

On the previous subject, whining about the Price pick at 5(not taking about you) is insanity at this point. He's a HOFer... You can find HOF defensemen in the second round, but that doesn't mean you skip on Hughes or Dahlin.

It's actually the depth of defensive prospects that people are excited about.

the depth on the roster in the context of winning hockey games today is another story.
Other than RD, and Hut the rest are 5/6s

Mailloux a 5/6
Engstrom a 5/6
Strubble a 5/6
Barron a 5/6

That's literally worst case scenario for each at this point. Another take that won't age well.
Yep, two of the guys won’t even be regulars.
Depth is so overrated by Hab fanboys.

How you enjoying MvM tonight, wasn’t that an epic 3 1/2 minute shift. So well coached.

It's disgusting. Worst part is. Just like Slaf, the biggest culprits will kiss his ass and celebrate his success when he starts to make plays at the NHL level.

Weasels.
What do you call the vitriol the "other guy" not drafted received? Attacks on his "character" from "unnamed sources." Pretty low and "disgusting" to do that to 18 year old kid.

Michkov received death threats and insults on his and his family's social media accounts from Canadiens fans ? Or are you talking about the very tame things said here on a message board he'll never read ?

I don't really think about fanatics. Most of them that complained about the guy playing in Philly were just salty that Montreal didn't pick the BPA and reached for a 2nd pairing guy. There were some former habs scouts that to this day and on podcasts still badmouths him. I listened to this guy compare him to Phil Kessel and talk about his plus minus rating and in the next few sentences gave every excuse in the book to habs players with bad plus minus ratings.

So he received criticism about his game, like every player in the draft.

Reinbachers family received death threats. Theres no comparison to be made here.

It's crazy to me that someone on this board would think he knows hockey enough to put the ceiling of Mailloux as a 3rd pairing dman max.

I’m not so sure. Worst case for all, except Struble, is career AHLer. Mailloux and Barron may never play the defensive side well enough, while Engstrom has looked good everywhere so far, but hasn’t hit the nhl. Struble is already a 5/6.

Most people didn’t expect Farrell and Roy to look this bad. Prospects have it tough to make the league.

Mailloux's offensive will at worst keep him as a NHL journeyman imo.

Uh no. Kopitar won 2 cups with kings as a monster first center. Great offensively and defensively. You can always draft a good goalie in round 2. You can’t draft kopitar there. Habs fd up. Face it. Stupid to draft price that high.
Habs also drafted Halak two years prior. Kopitar would have fixed the Habs biggest woe that's latest for decades.
