I think you missed the point but seized the opportunity to pump your narrative. Brady and his line mates all need to improve and share responsibility for the current bad results. Playing better defensively is part of that. They can all play better, and when they do, we will see better results.

no i got the point.

as mentioned by someone else brady is a support player. he needs at least 1 and probably 2 better players on his line.

Brady sees himself as a finisher. He’s not there to carry the puck or be the first man back - he’s essentially Dany Heatley and wants his goals first and everything else second.

I've been a Brady hater since the signing and while he has flashes I maintain that he isn't a good enough player to warrant his contract.

Negatives I see:
- he can't create his own shot
- he can't create for others
- he is a bit slow
- his bad skating leads to being exploited consistently on D

If you watch him, opponents are consistently getting good chances when he is on the ice and from what I can see a big reason is his slowness and his inability to control the offense (leading to opponent rushes).

His type of offense has value but in today's NHL you need speed and dynamic offense, and he provides neither.

If you look at stutzle for example, hes had a bad year but his bad defensive plays are rarely due to being exploited. It's because of a bad giveaway due to doing too much, or some other similar reasons and that to me is a more fixable problem.

I maintain that we are going to have a hard time being good while Brady is a top guy on this team.
When a coach like Craig Berube says that any coach would love to have a player like Brady Tkachuk on their team, then we know you're just a hater.

he has like 3 years before his skating and body start deteriorating from their peak years.
Claude Giroux looked like one of the fastest players on the ice last night, so I am not sure what you're talking about.

cool, giroux was faster at 22-25 than he was at 28 or 36.

not to mention brady is more similar to lucic or dustin brown in terms of skating and playstyle and not claude giroux.

hopefully brady's hockey iq is enough to make him age like stone. but that's a big hope.
I think Brady's skating is better than Stone's to begin with. Brady plays with emotion and so does Stone. Stone may or may not have a higher hockey IQ. But Stone's first Stanley was last year, as a thirty year old. Brady has a lot of good years in him. He's been durable and I think he will have a long career.

stone may or may not have higher iq? come on man.

stone is a genius compared to brady. stone is a genius compared to most hockey players.

Stone is a genius defensively. He got a lot of that from playing in the minors in Bingo and being coached properly before coming to the NHL. He's had to work on his game a lot before making it to the big leagues. Tkachuk has been in the NHL since his draft year. He never learned to defend from a coach like Jacque, rather Smith. He's capable of becoming more like Stone.

I sometimes wonder if it is a mistake to take all these guys into the NHL without some AHL experience... growth.

no stone is a genius playmaker. frankly i find stones actual d a little overrated because he is an all time puck thief. still a great defensive player but someone like daniel alfredsson or hossa were much better defensive players.

it's how Stone passes, reads and creates plays that make him a genius.

How so, you still haven’t proven any of your IQ statements, other than you said so, and playmaking lol.

Last year Tkachuk was a point per game player. This year a healthy Stone is a point per game player. I'd say they are pretty even in terms offensive output.

it really isn't that hard to tell who has better hockey iq when two players play in the same league and the same position.

especially when the gap is so big as between Brady and Stone. if you can't see it by just watching them nothing I can say would convince you otherwise.

He’s a good player. Has a good shot and can set a guy up with the odd pass.

What’s a negative about him is his attitude and character - crying to the media about the fan base, speaking out about Norris’s contract negotiations, appearing to be a party animal with the scheduled videos of him acting like a degenerate. He needs to give his head a shake and start acting like a leader and a captain.
