Agree to disagree.

From one Tkachuk fan to another , let's hope he gets on board, this way you can continue slobbering over him
Well I was trying to be realistic but you're entitled to your opinion. I'm sure your comments last night were due to some fortified eggnog.

Brady has looked worse defensively because now he is actually asked to play d, which i guess is an improvement, but him playing is d is ugly.

him playing d by cherry picking had him looking less foolish.

hopefully he has a good defensive game today cuz gotta start seeing improvements now. all the excuses are gone.

Do you remember how being adamant the guy wouldn’t be more than a third liner led to you being thoroughly razzed around here when Brady became a sure fire first liner and unicorn? I think you’re stepping out on a similar branch.

None of our forwards have made significant progress defensively under DJ. It’s not a coincidence.

I wouldn’t bet against Tkachuk developing his defensive game significantly under the tutelage of an excellent defensive coach and arguably the sens best two way forward of all time. Tkachuk has never been allergic to hard work, point him in the right direction and he’ll do it.

i have been saying for a long time that Brady was a 70 point player and that was before scoring went up. so not sure where you're getting the 3rd liner bit from.

and yea thats all im saying. brady should and better improve defensively or else we're screwed.

no more excuses anymore.

Pretty Subdued.

True. His body language says it all. How he downplays the coaching change at every opportunity. I am getting some major Jack Eichel vibes from him. Even if they managed to win 5 in a row, he would stubbornly say it is "basically the same thing", blah blah blah, as he has said whenever the Sens have won since Martin.

Too bad. I thought he was going to be a player so unique and loved that his jersey would go right beside Alfie's one day.

In person again, last night to watch a farce of a game. This captain is resisting to do what it takes to truly win, and I cannot for the life of me understand why. The coaching staff on every opposing team must have the same pregame notes: "When Tkachuk is on the ice, move the pucks to the points for an open shot and shoot. Defenders, you will have time to make a great play so make plays tongiht against the Tkachuk line. Be patient as he will drop to the slot and leave you guys open, especially as his shifts are too long"

He was my favourite player on this team, and I guess he has had enough of the losing, enough of the missed playoffs, enough of the season being over before New Year's.

Kinda don't blame him but I do? I am conflicted with this player and this situation. Starting to resent him...

One note, you can move the puck to the point against any winger on the Sens and get free shots and open passes. Not unique to Brady. Zero coverage of the points under DJ, and not much change there. Not allowing as many open looks from the slot now, but the points are still wide open.

True.

But it should start with the captain.

I will always cherish Brady, and honestly maybe it is best for them to move on from him. The guy has suffered enough

Brady does a lot of takeways in our dzone from what I have seen by being stronger than other players. He does it by lifting sticks and body checking and other methods. Sounds like some people's resentment of Brady is really just showing a negative bias and not placing blame on other players as well. It takes all the players commitment to hitting and being strong in our own end. It takes time for young players to learn the defensive side of the game. Without Brady on this team every team in the league would take liberties on our teams star players with no repercussions. Scrums would be owned by opposing teams. All of our players would play smaller than they do already. Need to bring in more physical players that have skill like Brady.

Put Tkachuk in the search engine, and my username.

Enjoy the heavy pro Tkachuk bias comments. Your intent to silence naysayers by invoking bias is laughable.

You are posting that you resent him. You actually put that in your post....I didn't you did.
Anyone knows that when you resent someone you aren't able to put your negative bias away and it comes through in your one track mind negative posts about our captain.
It does start with the captain and........he leads in takeaways, goals, hits, fights, shot attempts and many other categories. He also leads in creating fear in opposing players. He does not lead in every single category, nor is that a reasonable expectation.
He has 5 points in his last 3 games, probably his best 3 game point production statistics of this season.

I can put my negative bias away but are you able to criticall evaluate the player whose pajamas you wear ? The fact that you are bringing up his point totals tells me you can’t so

Jacques played him 12 minutes. Hence the face in the video at the end. He hasn't played 12 minutes since he was 18 years old under Boucher. The Rebuilding Brady Project will be on HBO next year. Either they get through to him or he is outta here, and Alfie will have his reputation tarnished if this goes pear shaped

Only 2 more minutes than Josh Norris, but Josh had 2 minutes of short handed time, and Brady was in box for 4 minutes and missed last 6 minutes of game, so wasn’t just him.

He had some time in the penalty box thus the lowered ice time. Plus 4th line was rolling ladt night so they got more ice time. Brady kept the other team honest last night in the scrums and when that Buffalo player slashed Forsberg's hand Brady was there to take care of things. No one gets away with taking liberties against our team with Brady around. Loved hearing the Brady...Brady...Brady chants last night!

Eh, I don’t think so. Alfredsson has quite a bit of runway and way more equity with the fanbase than anyone on this team.

Brady and the core though? They’ve won Jack shit at the NHL level. If they don’t buy in, most fans won’t lose sleep over them being shipped out.

Dorion and DJ left an absolute Gongshow. It won’t be a quick fix.

Jacques played him 12 minutes
He led all fwds in shifts at 5v5 despite getting kicked out of the game at the end and serving two penalties, only Giroux and Norris had more shifts all situations, it seems his low icetime was due to him taking short shifts rather than Jacques not putting him out there, he doesn't appear to have missed any shifts that his linemates got aside from pk and after his misconduct.

JM is well known to be a coach who preaches short shifts. Jason York has talked about it on his podcast.

Tkachuk leaning into it actually leads me to believe that he’s embraced the new philosophy, so the complete opposite of what @coladin is trying to insinuate.

For sure Berube is taking over and my guess is Beréube knows Brady really well being in St Louis for so long and winning the Cup there which Brady would of seen first hand. Probably a real comfort level and respect between the two.

could also be Berube wants to recharge the batteries and wait for Poulin and Satois to get their feet under them and Berube comes in and takes over once the group of Martin, Staois, Poulin, Alfie, Bowness have had a chance to change the culture and evaluate the Team.

Berube and the Sens are a perfect fit
