Fans taking teams side not news worthy
I mean, the rules are right there in black and white.

Here's an example of the refs calling that very same play albeit not on a penalty shot.

and here's a classic example you probably remember

here's another goalie called for tripping

Goalies aren't exempt from tripping penalties,

and here's the point of contact for reference, the save hadn't yet been made

I don't think its clear as day . I think Brady releases the puck it is actually saved by the pad then he stumbles.. Its ban bang fast .. Now... Is the play dead before the stumble caused by the stick being in his way I reviewed it frame by frame and the puck leaves his stick is stopped then he stumbles .. He is going fast . You can see the puck below that black line. Brady slid it. Its stopped.

This is a fraction later the puck has been stopped

then he falls

I also mentioned that in my post just a few post above talking to Golden_Jet

"The goal went for a poke check anticipating where the poke would go but Brady just let go of the puck, .."

Only for us in this case since we were on the receving end

Another night, when we do it to Matthew Tkachuk, it will be all fair play and no one will mention or care of the rules

The refs chose not to call it so we will go with that

Every penalty call is not a penalty. Every offside review is not called correct. Many goalie interferences are called as not interference and wise versa.

Those saves he made in a sequence on Brady should go on 'Top IQ plays in hockey ever' Youtube video

did the goalie make brady skate that fast while looking at the puck? he was basically asking for it. goalie owned him. if brady was paying attention it would have been an easy goal.

there was no do over shot, there was only a loss and a man-child tantrum.

like dozens of games before and its tiring and just embarrassing now.

This is a putrid take.

Should Hossa have just skated harder to avoid the hooks from Stevens and Danekyo? No, the refs should do their jobs.

it was a missed call, happens all the time. my point is that Brady put himself in that position skating in like that.

even if the goalie didn't get his skates Brady put himself in a position where he had nowhere to go.

Brady was probably coming in hot hoping the young goalie would be too excited and push off too hard moving laterally to block the backhand deke (which was set up nicely given the sens obsession with shooting glove side all night) in order to open up the five hole.

Not unlike this:

Or this

Or even this

The reaction was a bit over the top, but I‘ll take the good with the bad to have Brady around.

You mean he should act like Alfie when he mocked Sundin pretending to throw his broken stick into the stands? Or when Alfie shot the puck at Niedermeyer after the whistle?
No captain is perfect.

I mean, if Tkachuk was acting up in the Stanley Cup playoffs or when the team was in 1st place... I don't think there'd be any criticism.

But he's doing it amidst what looks like yet another throwaway season.

Are you serious?
Please tell me you aren’t serious and I’m missing an unfunny joke here.

We have to convince our own fans that he was tripped and that was a penalty and Brady had every right to be pissed?

I’ve seen a couple posters here whining and claiming he embarrassed us. You are the embarrassment and you can gtfo.

I don't really understand why people are so hard on Tkatchuk. He's still a kid and will only get better. This sort of play could have gone either way. It was a trip. Goalie didn't go for the puck, he went for the skates.

It's the same group of BS posters that always go after Brady. For them its a personal vendetta to go overboard about anything he does wrong. BT deserves his fair share of criticism but if you going to hate on him for minor stuff then go cheer for another team.

Bigger question is...where are Giroux and Harmonic (and to a lesser extent Tarasenko)? What are the vets here doing to help our younger players, because I'm not seeing any growth or maturity happening on this team. Hell, even the coaching staff.

Brady seems to be regressing when it comes to maturity level, but it also feels like there's no one there putting him on a better track.

Certainly Giroux seems to be getting off scott free especially being a former captain.

Why should they?

Hamonic was a waiver pick up. Tarasenko is here until the trade deadline. Giroux got his retirement contract.

It's not quite the equivalent, but if some loudmouth spoiled brat came to work where I do I wouldn't lift a finger to help them. Sure, he has a lot of potential, but I wasn't hired to teach him how to do his job.

I'd do as minimally as was required of me.

Isn't that one of the big reason why we have a few vets? For mentoring and leadership?

Yes, but that's you. Pro athletes don't just work; they work to win. And to win they need everyone committed to doing the right things to win. Big difference.
