Player Discussion Brady Skjei

Right now I view Brady as better on the PP than McD. That is good but also bad. McD looks perplexed on our PP lately while Brady is playing well.

yup.

mcdonagh looks clueless on the pp. he just doesnt do the offense thing well.

hes slow to shoot. telegraphs when he does shoot and his shot isnt great when he gets it off. the point on the pp must include the ability to rip it off the pass. oner timers. he doesnt have that.

he really doesnt have any intuitiveness on the pp. he needs to be on the 2nd unit at best.

prefer skjei and clendo there over him.

he is good at getting back and recovering though. problem is, its because he mishandles so many pucks or has shots blocked that go the other way. hes always to busy playing defense on the pp to help out much.
 
Brady gains the zone on the PP much better lately as well even if that means Brady goes and retrieves the puck himself.
 
What are you even talking about? Skjei has less ice time of course. He also has ZERO goals and ZERO primary assists on the PP and he almost never shoots. Meanwhile McDonagh is tied for 9th in the league in primary pp assists.
 
Until we get a guy like a Shatty: Clendo on PP1. McD on PP2. But I'm sure Clendo will be sipping cocktails in the Press box as soon as Klein stops spasming. So my point is moot.

I agree with this. Skjei is not good on the PP.

McDonagh gets some PP points and isn't awful on the PP, but he has some big PP blunders and shouldn't play as much on the PP as he does.

Little better . How about a second or third plus Hayes and skjei (eventhough it pains me to give up skjei) and what is Winnipeg adding? Any decent young prospects?
But this is just pie in the sky because many jets fans probably wouldn't even do skjei and miller for trouba

I always find it amusing when people think a trade will or will not go through based on what the fans of one of the teams would say on a message board. :laugh:

Stepan should be nowhere near the first PP. He should be locked in the penalty box when we are on the PP. :laugh:

I like the idea of Clendening on the first PP, but he might not play.

I don't think our best PP has any righty forwards.

Zucc on one half wall, Buch on the other, Miller in the slot and also taking FO's, Kreider in front of the net, Clendening on the point.

Second unit can be Zibanejad on the left half wall, Hayes on the right half wall, Nash in front of the net, McDonagh at the point, and then you have to throw one more player on. Maybe an extra center like Pirri or if worst comes to worst, Stepan because of FO's or maybe an extra defenseman like Smith for his shot.
 
Skjei is easily one of the top 5 rookies in the NHL and he wasn't even rated in the top 70 prospects by THN because the rest of the hockey media hates NY. Period. Why I never listen to any prospect ranking sites.
