And they got badly outplayed in 5 of those 6 games in that series and got very lucky they won.
Treliving inherited of an average D and a suspect tandem of goaltenting... leafs goalie was as much suspect than last season when they started the season with Murray/Samsonov or the year before with Campbell and MrazekIt's game 19 after Treliving inherited a team that was good defensively and got good goaltending last year.
Treliving inherited a great team and situation, and had plenty of time, cap space, and available roster spots to make his mark on the team.
All he had to do was maintain what he was given. Instead, he made it worse with bad decisions.
I don't really care about what Pittsburgh does, but interestingly, Pittsburgh has improved their xGA/60 from last year by +0.09, while Toronto has dropped by -0.24.
They really did, its funny how it works. Pretty much the exact opposite of their series losses over the last 3-4 yearsAnd they got badly outplayed in 5 of those 6 games in that series and got very lucky they won.
So we’re comparing 7-8 other series to just 1 now? They really did, its funny how it works. Pretty much the exact opposite of their series losses over the last 3-4 years
I doubt they know that at this point.Hopefully to announce Klingberg is done for the season.
So we have a disadvantage to other teams in hot weather states, or even the US in general?
Why does this never get brought up about the disadvantage that Dubas had?
It is weird how many people are coming to the defense of Treliving... he got outperformed badly by Winnepeg, they are the least desirable place. Is Cheveldayoff that good? Is Yzerman super overrated because players love to play in Florida?
You can always ignore the thread by the way, it is very simple, complaining about a conversation isn't going to help much.
Hopefully he decides to take the surgery route and hangs the gloves up for this season. So Treliving said Klingberg injured himself against Florida, so we only saw three games of him "healthy". Also sounds like a surgery decision will be made this week.
I can see him retiring if the rehab and prognosis are not great. He missed the boat on the long term deal when Dallas offered it and it's never going to come again. I doubt he wants to put himself through rehab to just get a $1-2m show me deal. Especially at his age.Hopefully he decides to take the surgery route and hangs the gloves up for this season.
He is too young to retire.I can see him retiring if the rehab and prognosis are not great. He missed the boat on the long term deal when Dallas offered it and it's never going to come again. I doubt he wants to put himself through rehab to just get a $1-2m show me deal. Especially at his age.
He’s 31. He’ll definitely come back with an NHL team on a 1 year deal. Someone will sign him, it just won’t be Toronto.I can see him retiring if the rehab and prognosis are not great. He is on LTIR. No trade yet though.Klingburger will go on LTIR and the Leafs will trade for Tanev.
You can’t get unlucky and lose in the 1st round 7 years in a row. But you can certainly get lucky and win a round 1 year. What?
That might be true, but you might have been good enough to win.You can’t get unlucky and lose in the 1st round 7 years in a row. But you can certainly get lucky and win a round 1 year.
Theres always reasons you win or lose a series. The series we lost, since Covid at least, are ones we carried the play in. The one we won, was the opposite. You can’t get unlucky and lose in the 1st round 7 years in a row. But you can certainly get lucky and win a round 1 year.
We ranked top-10 in both defensive results and goaltending last year.Treliving inherited of an average D and a suspect tandem of goaltenting...
The individual claimed that Treliving was handed a hand grenade, when that is the furthest thing from the truth. He was handed one of the most ideal situations you could ask for. No GM is going to have all of the perfect solutions available to them in any given offseason, but Treliving had much, much better options available to him for the secondary pieces he had to replace than what he ended up doing, and he seemed to have no understanding of how replacing a bunch of good defensive players and PKers with a collection of the worst defensive players in the league would negatively affect us.you can have cap space and time, its whats you needing are not available, that will change absolutly nothing.
