I don't think Lagesson turns into anything. Has time to flesh out his game I guess, but right now he is not in the business of pushing this team over the top.. which is what most of these moves were supposed to do.

I knew I forgot someone, Domi... he is a guy I feel needs more ice time, and I think the coaches knew that and that was why they started him on the wing so he could go up and down the lineup. Bit of an oops there when he can't play on the wing (which is bizarre imo).

As much as people are ragging on JT, Domi is not better, certainly not over the run of a full season, so he gets stuck on 3 with little help around him. To be fair, Nicky Bobby has shown some flashes. Tonight was not one of those nights lol.

Domi is the type of player that will show his worth in the playoffs. Mark my words.

Do you guys see, that we are in a wildcard spot and only 4 points away from missing the Playoffs? He needs to do something, some big trade or change the coach - because this is getting embarassing.

As much as some people think we should be going all in, I’m not sure that’s what Brad will do. If there is a deal it’s probably going to be Tanev or Hanifan, both guys I wouldn’t touch, both are either well past 30 or upcoming free agent. But alas, I’m not the GM, question becomes does Brad believe in this team. From this fan’s perspective I don’t
Why would Leafs goes all in? They are a borderline playoffs teams with holes every where.
If anything, we might actually see Tre selling like Gregor, TJ, Bert, Jones and even Gio.

Gregor is 25, skates like the wind and has a low cap hit. He's permanent 4th line member

And Leafs don't need to sell. No team with matthews marner rielly jt and nylander on it ever need to sell.

brodie and gio need to go yes

The maybe don’t need to sell but they certainly should not spend a single pick or decent asset At the deadline. As far as having those 5 players you mentioned what have they done to convince you they are worth it From a team success standpoint.

Not sure what you mean by "need to sell", maybe that they have no problem selling tickets so they don't "need to" do anything?

While that's true, it's also pretty obvious that this teams chances of going deep are near zero, so if we're trying to win the cup at some point with this core, selling is entirely logical.

Can't admit this team does not have what it takes to go on a deep run. Yes, anything can happen in the playoffs, it just hasn't happened for us in 56 years. Maybe this is the year?

Judging by his track record?
He is trending downward

Stand pat .Why waste assets on a core that is trending in the wrong direction

Reminds me of the "you mean there's a chance" line from the Dumb and Dumber movie. Anything's "possible" sure, we could win the cup, but we could also miss the playoffs. It's up to the GM to balance the probabilities and make decisions accordingly, and IMO "there's a chance" isn't a good enough reason to be buyers instead of sellers year after year after year after year after year ...

Being able to read the landscape is part of the job and not something Shanny and Dubas were good at. Tre has to be thinking next year or worse the following year after Tavares comes off the books IMO, hence why Bert would be first to go followed by the rest of the pending UFAs and anybody on the roster not named Matthews or Knies for the right price.

Bottom line it will come down to Rielly and Woll .. you guys don't fully get it yet because you have not seen this kid Woll for as long as I have (since he was 9 years old) .. literally this kid came from nowhere in MO and laced up pads and stoned TO's best 97's his 1st year in da nets .. kid played a year up (many times 2 years up) as a 98 and stoned guys like Mcjesus and Mitch all by himself with zero D .. i mean 60+ shot games many high danger breakaways mostly against guys like McJesus and Mitch and single handledly won games while he waited for Thachuk to score 1 .. he is one of best 1 on 1 tenders in world and if Tre can build a better D who can take way screens, odd man rushes and move guys net front then Woll can take down entire league straight up with his athletics in his on 1 game .. but as it stands now we don't stand much of a chance .. i love what i have seen from Benoit but even if he can be one of 4 we still need 2 more in top 4 with Morgan .. and hope I am wrong but Tre not looking like a winner here to me

Agree 100% - - Gregor is an inexpensive and effective 4th liner. It would be nonsensical to trade him away for a mid round pick.

I wouldn’t trade any draft picks but I’d definitely try to dump Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan on someone.

I had no clue who Woll was before he played for Toronto but to me it’s easy to tell he’s the real deal. He’s had 2, maybe 3 bad games since he’s played for us and in the rest he was about as solid as I’ve seen a Toronto goalie in my life. Let’s hope for a 100% full recovery here, because I’m guessing we will need him at his best to accomplish anything this year.

Agreed. This team is toast until a retool happens. This team's depth is wire thin, and Marner and Nylander just don't have that playoff next level that is needed to win a cup. We will get what we've gotten since their first playoffs. Once the games get desperate, they will just not be good enough to offset the terrible depth their contracts have created on the roster. If we had Matthews and two Pastrnaks or two Ahos...id have a bit more hope.

This team is unwatchable at this point for me. Marner constantly using his postgame interviews as a soapbox for him to complain about mean social media, the coach repeatingly saying the Leaders on this team lack leadership abilities... And then the shi! disconnected on ice product. How many times have we changed Keefes assistant coaches?

this team very clearly needs a coach like Torts to offset the complete lack of leadership of the roster. Keefe is as out of his league as the leaders on the ice.

Why did you scratch Kampf...

"we are going to have less tolerance for defensive errors"

Wtf Keefe this is your 5th season and NOW your proclaiming to the world there will be "less tolerance for defensive errors"?

Yeah... This is why I've always been blown away that a rookie GM hired a rookie Coach. As ignorant as anyone can get. Dubas is an idiot.

Shanahan needs to go for being so dimwitted. All he had to do was back up the brinks truck and buy the very best the NHL has to offer for coaches and management. I mean Trotz would've absolutely came here. Nope... We he gets Laurel and Hardy.

Woll coming back and standing on is head is really the only glimmer of hope this team has of making noise in the playoffs this season.

That’s awesome and I agree bc Woll is really good 1 on 1 and what I like most about him is his poise. Never seems to be in panic mode and rarely swim around the crease.

I like the fact that Tre signed players to 1 year show me contracts because this franchise in the past has signed players to multiple years that did not deserve it and handcuffed cap space.

The trade deadline is the biggest worry now for this team because we have seen the Leafs not capable of being consistent. Hopefully Tre sees this and has the guts to make some changes without mortgaging the future.

For the assistents, every time one of them gets a head coaching job, we replace them.
