Brad Richards Part II

His performance tonight was good, but against a simply awful team.
If it helps him get his motor running, that would be great.

Cool of the guys to give him the hat. He clearly wasn't doin too well after Tuesdays game and needed some sort of self esteem boost

Don't see this team doing much if Richards is dead weight in the playoffs. He was a beast in the playoffs last year and I really hope he can get back to that form now. Maybe tonight was his slump buster.

He's been skating better and playing much better in his own zone, along the walls.

That's a start. His goal can only help his confidence as well. I think this may be the start of something good.

If he needs a self esteem boost ask him to check out his last salary payment from the NYR's.

With gabby gone richards has been a lot better

What does that say about him?

I saw some flashes last night which leads me to hope that whatever issues he's having are in his head.

Great, a first line center with head problems, Cup here we come !

My point is it's not a Drury thing where his body broke down and he physically couldn't do it anymore. I think Richards is fighting himself and pressing. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes off if the Rangers get the clean slate of a playoff birth.

i did see some flashes last night. He's going to need to back up those flashes with a irregular heartbeat tonight. Then, he may be able to build that into a regular heartbeart.

It has gotten way beyond into his head no doubt.......let's hope he can come out of it. At least even ressemble a shell of his former self. Because we are not going far in the Playoffs without him.:sarcasm:

What if its a bit of both? Breaking down and its messing with his head.

Conversely if he plays well we can make run.

It's troublesome. Watching the mental issues (lack of confidence, pressure, stress) work over Richards has been brutal. It makes me appreciate a guy like Messier even more. Say what you will about Mess, he has what it takes to face up to extreme challenges.

One wishes that there were a better way to ascertain how a player will handle pressure. Hopefully Richards will begin to feel better.

It certainly looks at least somewhat physical...

I think the same, but I hope not... he doesn't get involved, his shot is weak with a 2 hour wind-up... he's beaten to pucks on a regular basis... he looks 42, not 32.

Drury, Gomez, Naslund, Cullen Rupp, Asham, Redden... why do so many guys go to complete **** when they join the Rangers?
