I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not at all.

Nobody has ever got suspended for the nut-shot before, ever, until today.

Some consistency would be sweet.

(I don't even have a problem with brad getting a suspension, as long as everyone else who makes the same play, also gets a suspension.)

Not surprising, we knew he would get something. He is deprived of the chance of a 40-goal season. Oh well, next year he can go for 50.

NHL is hilarious in their suspension calls, I think they put numbers in a hat, and draw it out and that is how it is done, or so it seems.

I have zero problem with the NHL suspending for these offenses, but for God's sake make the punishment the same for everyone.

TSN's Dreger says Marchand has already gotten breaks multiple times with past incidents. The wait time for a decesion might be an indication that the NHL is struggling with how to handle this situation. No matter which way it comes down, a backlash will ensue between the camps that see it as too much discipline accessed versus those who see it as not enough.

This is utterly ridiculous. It's a stick between the legs for **** sake, not an international incident.

Do I have a problem with the suspension as a whole? No. He shouldn't have done it, and it has no place in the game.

That being said, when you have Crosby doing it multiple times in the same season and nothing is done, it's BS. Doesn't matter if he has a reputation or not.

Also, the fact that literally no one has ever been suspended for this before is pretty absurd. It'd be one thing if Brad had done it before, been warned, and then continued to do it.

But hey, Marchand responded pretty well when he was suspended from the Winter Classic, maybe a suspension robbing him from having a chance at 40 goals will have the same effect.

Meh. It doesn't hurt the Bruins playoff chances (although at the time of the penalty, it certainly could have).

Marchand cost himself the chance at 40. Also meh. He knows how fine of a line he walks. It was unnecessary.

I love his skills, but this stuff drives me crazy. Hope he behaves in the playoffs.
