Since not all devices went off simultaneously they could have been detonated prematurely.
 
My first cousin from Chicago ran in this today...not sure of his status...just heard about this a few minutes ago . I also know of 3 other people ....praying they are all OK .
 
Guys, let's all take the Post stuff with a grain of salt. This is the Post we're talking about; 90% of their reporting prowess is dedicated to creating provocative headlines.

True, but you can detonate an RCIED from 1000 meters away. I never heard of one cell phone or garage door opener triggering multiple IEDs at once. Usually one cell phone per IED.

I'm speculating but it doesn't add up that the guy initiating would be so close to the blast. He could have been at Fenway 20 blocks away and still initiated.
 
Just woke up to hear this. Horrible news, there are 3 guys I work with that ran in this, hoping they are ok...:(
 
Cell service has been shut down in Boston
NHL has postponed tonights Bruins/Sens game.

What a shame....lots of reports from "credible" sources CBS Evening News reporting an unexploded bomb was found, but the BPD Commish says that's not the case...let things get sorted out even government officials guessing can say stupid things.

Ain't that the truth. BPD Commish also said that the "explosion" at JFK library was related, but the library's own Twitter feed is saying it was a mechanical fire and that any correlation is pure speculation.
 
These people were just trying to enjoy a ****ing marathon. Ugh, I gotta stop thinking about this it's really depressing me. Breaks my heart.

Not to mention that the initial reports right after these incidents are wrong more often than they're right. Newtown, Columbine, 9/11, OKC...ALL of them had false reports. Then when you consider that only outlet reporting the Saudi man in custody is the NY Post, it becomes even harder to take seriously.

Yep. CNN saying strongly and boldly that no one is in custody.

That's odd that NYPost would report something bogus like that. They're a pretty big newspaper

NY Post is a pretty bogus newspaper. I have a hard time believing that they have all this information when all these other sources (including ones in Boston) are reporting things in general agreement.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts and support. Lord knows no city has suffered more than New York but its hell here today in Boston.

I was 7 during 9/11 and I still remember it as one of the most harrowing moments ever considering how close I live to the city.

I can only imagine what it was like for those who did live in the city and for all those in Boston right now. I can only hope that everyone up there stays safe and can reconnect with their loved ones.

They're a pretty big rag that devotes more attention to provocative headlines than actual reporting. The Post has ZERO journalistic integrity.
