Confirmed Signing with Link: [BOS] F Elias Lindholm signs with the Bruins (7 years, $7.75M AAV)

Lindholm’s best years happened with him being the 3rd option on his line offensively. He’s a wonderful complement to skilled players as a guy who can handle the defensive load of the line and finish off plays with a quick shot, but he’s not particularly creative himself and he won’t raise the levels of lesser skilled players.

And there in lies the problem in Boston, currently. There isn’t offensive talent to surround him with to let him be a top end support guy. They thought they were gonna run Zacha Lindholm Pasta, but then Coyle went from 60 points to a 30 point pace and they had to split they had to start spreading their limited talent before that line even had a chance to jell.

What was the flames offer again?

I want to say it was 8 or 9 for the maximum 8 years.
Lindholm did Calgary a major favour by declining. In fact, every UFA we had last year did us a favour by telling us to pound sand.

The only guy I'd take back on our team in a heartbeat is Hanifin. Outside of that, everyone did us a solid by not wanting to sign the deals Conroy was offering them.

He's currently on pace for 41 pts, he's one hot streak away from pacing for 50pts+ which is where most Bruins fan expected him to be (50-60pts). We were hoping for 70pts+ but expected 50-60 pts.

If we had more offensive talent to support him I'm sure Lindholm would be pacing for 50 pts+. It also doesn't help that the entire team is having career low's.

Lindholm is not the player that drives offence. He contributes but relies on his teammates to get things going.

That's what most of Bruins fans expected, a defensively responsible complimentary player that would allow Pasta to take more risks. But we're simply pointing out that everyone around him is tracking for career low's. It's not just one or two players, it's the entire team!
