Confirmed Signing with Link: [BOS] F Elias Lindholm signs with the Bruins (7 years, $7.75M AAV)

That was one thing I noticed with the Canucks that isn’t as obvious when you aren’t watching a player regularly. He wasn’t nearly as good defensively as his reputation. So if he’s not scoring a decent amount, he’s not really a top 6 centre.
Lindholm is good on the PK, and he is strong in his own zone if his partners can forecheck and exit well ala Tkachuk and Gaudreau respectively. But he never dictated the game defensively like Bergeron.

He had the luck of playing on a line with exceptional chemistry with Gaudreau and Tkachuk. He will never put up those sorts of numbers again. His standard should be 50-60 points and strong defensive play. Expecting more than that is asking for trouble.

I watched most of Van last PO games and Lindholm and Zadorov were probably Van 2 bests players and i was telling my self that i want them in Bs team...Elias not showing a lot he looks lost and no skill and after 47 games, woooouffff this contract is....woooouuuufffff!
Well, he was just as bad in the regular season for Vancouver. He only started playing good once the Playoffs started. So who knows, maybe he'll do the same for you this year.

50-60 pts with strong defensive play gets you around this contract. 60-70 pts and strong defensive play makes you one of the better 2C’s in the league.

He is performing well below expectations and knows it. His skating legs are there, but he show very little creativity and worse lots of inconsistency. I think he may bounce back, if the Bruins can find him a good winger. But, with the Bruins in a severe decline and presently managed by two absolute incompetents, that is extremely unlikely.

There were earning signs for the past few seasons. Hes someone who doesnt lift the wingers. They need good wingers and have chrmustry
I don't see how any team is going to take a 30 year-old with 6 years left on a contract with such negative overall value. Unless the B's advertised him with Pastrnak stapled to his butt, no one would give acquiring him any thought whatsoever.
No body is taking him unless you take back a similar contract

Lindholm’s best years happened with him being the 3rd option on his line offensively. He’s a wonderful complement to skilled players as a guy who can handle the defensive load of the line and finish off plays with a quick shot, but he’s not particularly creative himself and he won’t raise the levels of lesser skilled players.

I think at some point your have to abandon on the square peg into a round hole and even though he was signed as your 1C, the time has come to put lindholm in his rightful place, a 3C regardless of caphit, unfortunately
The issue is the Bruins only have really good third line C's/Forwards
Lindholm, Zacha, Coyle, Poitras, Frederic, Geekie, etc
