clearly he was scratched because he was obviously up for a trade....the Sabres have no business benching him because they literally had no one to legitimate to play his spot...probably why they lost 3 in a row to their fellow bottom feeders including a 4 goal loss to the Sharks you aren't exactly proving anything...they have only gotten worse with him out. I'm sure the coaching staff that has let up 214 goals already with nearly the same roster as last year is so proud. He actually defends better than Power does but hey that doesn't matter for the Sabres who have no interest in actually winning games.

He’s only played 42 games - that’s not scratching bc of trade protection friend. That’s just the last 3 games only doesn’t explain the other 15 or so healthy scratches!

Missing zucker contributed to those losses more than he did

Kind of a strange move from the Bruins, given where it seemed they were headed with the rest of their deadline moves. But hey...why not i guess? Slim chance he catches on and becomes a long term sort of "complementary 2-way RHD filler" partner for Lohrei or something. But in the meantime...at least not just completely tanking out, and it's not like a 4th next year is a huge cost i suppose.


Still just feels like a guy they could've waited on...though perhaps they were interested in him this summer as a UFA, and this deal is a pretty low cost way of gauging whether he's worth signing to a contract with term or not. In that sense, it's a potentially very cheap "rental". In that you can see if he fits with your blueline or not. And if not...you're entirely untethered to Jokiharju in any contractual sense. I suppose not making another UFA mistake is worth a fair bit, potentially.

Yep, that's the answer. Zadorov has been a hard guy to find a partner for. McAvoy seems to do better with a more offensive partner. Carlo struggled all year so that pair didn't work. Zadorov did really well with Peeke but that's a black hole offensively.

This move gives the Bruins a chance to audition a guy they think will be the answer. So far so good. Their first game together was phenomenal.
