You can look at any Sabres gameday thread for the last 2 years and the fans were not at all happy with Cozens.

You can look at any Sabres gameday thread for the last 2 years and the fans were not at all happy with Cozens.

There was even a small cluster of fans who only existed in GDTs for a couple of years as a subset of ranting about Cozens. But of course we just don't like them today. Not all the times when they made the wrong play and it was everyone else's fault.

So your examples are:

Eichel - the guy who trashed the city and demanded a trade even before his injury
RoR - the guy who "lost his love of the game" with Buffalo, and even then fans were acknowledging of his talent and skill - he wasn't Evander Kane or Rasmus Ristolainen
Cozens - the guy whose metrics have been getting worse over the past three years, and even though fans defended him for a while, his time simply had come. There are legit questions on whether he will be a decent middle six player, or a legit top 6 center.
Joker - a guy who started off well with us, but again, struggled as the team has. He might be a decent bottom pair player, but a lot of us dont hold out hope. The statements around him not being a core piece have been coming around for years now.

Sabres fans have been very complimentary of players traded off their team over the years, Reinhart, Ullmark, Lenher. I think you just aren't a fan of the city, based on your comment in other threads about the Sabres...

You don't have a leg to stand on. Sabres fans hated the ROR trade and did not hesitate to admit they lost the best asset in the trade. They didn't like his "lost love for hockey" comments, but that's another story.
Eichel: Similar, but there was the added issue with his back surgery where noone knew how it was gonna go. For all we knew at the time, he could've ended up a cripple.
Cozens and Joker did play badly and definitely outstayed there respective welcomes to varying degrees.
