There were more concussions before being in NHL as well....he puts himself in harm's way multiple times every game. Hope he stays healthy and wins a cup I love him as a player.

Don’t think they’re correct about the Feb 7 2020 one - people were speculating he might have a concussion, but the Ducks were very clear he actually has the flu, right?

He has suffered plenty of injuries though. But it sounds like he’s currently sick, not injured.

Heard he’s pretty decent at the Shootout as well. Bruins are 0-7 in them this season. Definitely not the reason the trade was made but should be a secondary benefit for the Bruins.

Doubt that he missed 5 games with the flu. It’s something else, likely concussion from the Muzzin hit. We’re just speculating, let’s see what the Boston medical staff says. Cap friendly shows the Bruins already put him on IR.

Getting rid of Backes for a first AND getting a player of actual value back is better than I would have expected.

I'll take it.

I mean, the flu can be pretty nasty. We’ll see, but the team has been pretty clear saying “he’s not injured, he has the flu,” for now I trust that more than random message board speculation.

Hes already on IR, guessing that wasn't from something that happened today lol

To add to another point, actually the Ducks weren't very clear about him having the flu. They said he missed the Buffalo game with flu-like symptoms and never spoke of it again. Even when they announced the other day that he'd be practicing again they didn't say why.

I wouldnt read too much into the bruins putting him on IR. if he was put on the roster they would be over the limit and have to send someone down. probably makes sense to ir him so they have a chance to complete additional deals.

doesn't he have to pass a physical in order for the trade to process? would expect the b's to do their due diligence on this if he still has scrambled eggs for brains

in which case, it could be the flu after all

Not necessarily. The trade is official, it’s not like Boston sent their doctor to California to examine Kase this morning. They know he has concussion history and still made the trade.

To be honest, if I was a player who was rumored to be traded at the beginning of the year for Faulk and on a big losing team, and making peanuts in comparison to his potential performance.... I would also use every excuse possible to not play so I could conserve myself for my contract year and also hope that Murray's impatience lets him get traded to a competing team. Kase is the true BIG winner here, and he did this maneuvering without causing alot of drama like other athletes have (i.e. football players generally... especially WRs). He gets to play for an amazing franchise, a great shot at the Cup, and gets to play with a good offensive team to ensure that he gets his eventual payday. It would not surprise me at all if he recovers from all his re-occurring injuries... and if so this trade will be Kunitz 2.0 with Kase winning a cup or two. We can all look forward to seeing him score on us like Wild Bill and Palmieri.

Doubt that’s the case. When he is in the lineup he gives 100% every shift and puts his brain out there to get hammered. Don’t think you do that if you are being careful and waiting to be traded.

I wish him nothing but the best. He is a class act on and off the ice while here.
He did the Bruins a solid too since the Ducks weren’t on his acceptable list but he waived it to go there.
In Mass. this week is school vacation. His wife and kids are in Florida on vacation.
He will stay here over the weekend to say his goodbye and report on Monday I believe.

He says here he'll report tomorrow night (assuming he makes his debut Sunday vs Vegas)
