Not a bad game. Entertaining. Would of been nice to get the win but a few mistakes cost them. 4 out of 6 points on this road trip isn’t all that bad.

Dont really think that game is as bad as everyone thinks. We lose 5-4, on a b2b against toronto (which went to a shootout, extra rounds, and Matthews gets 2 goals, one which was game tying and also in the SO), on the road, then play boston who had a day off, has the goal scoring leader who gets a hat trick with one hell of a shot, we get outshot, get caught how many times on a change, stupid penalties, and i really didnt think Brossoit played bad. But it really doesnt seem which goalie we have in net someone always puts them down if they let in a bad goal, or couple bad goals. Im a goalie, obv not anywhere close or ever will be to an NHL goalie but 99% of people on here arent either so if some people think they can do better then why dont they go in net for the Jets and prove it? Its just very frustrating hearing it almost every game, im just venting. I really think if our d had a couple better guys back there, the goals would go down and we wouldnt be blaming the goalies as much.

Quesnel, B.C.
Well the Road Warriors

almost pulled it off

Perhaps a bit of adjusting on the pairings to make sure they're in sync and working together

Defensive, I mean of course

As for the Bruins, Marchand did nothing to change my opinion of him

The Referees didn't seem to want to hear the Jets side of things

I consulted with an expert on bad things. Here's what he had to say:

"I've seen a lot of bad Referees and those, those there are baaad Referees!"

That isn’t Laine’s motivation anymore. The coach has made it clear that he should become a defensive power forward who can chip in offensively. Laine is becoming what Maurice has moulded him to become.
Pasta is very responsible defensively. Being good in both ends isn't mutually exclusive and Laine will have to be if he wants to be as good a player.

We need Laine to take over some games like Pasternak.
________________________________________________

Laine was advertised to be a big star --right up there with Mathews, but really he's just an average player, with an above average shot. Hopefully he'll keep working on his skating and be a dominating player, but right now, he's just not that. We have to rely on Sceif, Wheeler, Connor and Ehlers to pull games out for us.

That's a cop out -
Laine had a bad game - more likely he was simply tired - didn't have much zip out there and the B2B probably had something to do with it.

He had 14 shots the other night in a game against the Leafs so he isn't being asked to play defense -
His game is better when his motor is running and he's involved in the play - fighting for pucks, working with the line.
Not the case tonight - Maurice had nothing to do with that effort.

Post-game audio:

Players: Andrew Copp and Laurent Brossoit.

Coach Maurice: How did he think his team fared? Line changes/turnovers. How did he feel about the special teams tonight? Thoughts on Dmitry Kulikov's return. Challenges of the Bruins top line. Evaluating the trip as a whole. What does he like about Luca Sbisa's game? Did he expect that he would have such a big impact for the team? Looking ahead at the next block of games. What did he like about Copp on the 2nd line. Thoughts on the goaltending?

True, but Pasta has the best supporting cast on his line in Bergeron and Marchand who are clearly superior defensively to Pasta. I do agree that Laine needs to grow his skating and two way play. Hopefully he can eventually rediscover his scoring ability once he has solidified these other areas.

Goals last three years
Laine 110 goals
Past 107 goals

Laine two years younger. He’s taken over some games before I think too.
You know pasta missed 16 games... What's their ppg look like over the same time period?

Laine deserves a bit of slack tonight. Everyone was kind of below average to average, except KC. Think he's more of the anomaly after 3 in 4
