I think Vancouver only trades Horvat if there’s an overpayment or his ask is so ridiculously high.

So we are really about to witness Miller 2.0?

That was brutal already

Who says Vancouver is looking for fair value? If he is moved it will likely be to the highest bidder or whoever can offer what Vancouver is seeking, likely right shot defenseman or young center.

If you want a damm good young center the mist of teams looking to trade one will be very small.

Columbus has RD’s but they aren’t going to trade 3 Dmen for one player

Vancouver will sell to the highest bidder, but it's those bidders that will try to not exceed his value. I'd rather my team not pay more for him than he's worth.

My guess is yes. Although of the two, I feel like teams are more likely to meet the Canucks’ asking price for Horvat. We shall see.

If I was a Vancouver fan and heard for 2 years how big changes were coming for nothing to absolutely happen I’d be ….ng furious.

All those rumours and that talk last year, & all the quotes already from this season.

False  Did you even bother to check the salary cap for next season? Less than $10,000,000 to sign 8 players that's including Nyquist off the books. There's no way Jarmo can give Horat 8 x $8,000,000 without some bodies being moved period.

Outside of Gavrikov who do they have to re-sign?

They have one of the deepest prospect pools in the league and will be pushing lot of kids into the roster on elc’s.

No matter what though I’d move Roslovic and his 4M

Oh trust me, most of us are over this team at this point. A lot depends on how they fare over the next 2-3 weeks, but this management group is loathe to break up this core group that hasn’t accomplished anything, for some reason.

I don’t think they’ll move Horvat just to move him though, unless he indicates he’s not willing to re-sign or is asking for way too much. I imagine they’ll handle the situation similar to how they did with Miller.

I think this is a joke but not sure
Yeah, it's how we fans set up our own goal posts to suit our needs. Not wanting to trade for any player is reasonable, but stuff like Miller only succeeding because of Vancouver is a pretty ridiculous take. Now, if the poster laughs that off as a bad take then that's cool. We all post nonsense at times particularly on the topic of trades.

If y'all are referring to me, that's less a reasoned take I can readily justify in debate and more a personal feeling/hunch that can potentially be freely disregarded as needed. My real objections to the Jackets pursuing Miller are grounded more in other, more reliable facts. :)

They have to make big changes and if they keep Horvat as well the same core is still there so what’s going to change?

There is an obvious need at C for Columbus and BO would fill that need.

If Jarmo does acquire Bo, it’s not as a rental there would have to be an extension in place.

Vancouver needs D.

You honestly think that Allvin/Rutherford are strictly looking for D? They will want a C replacement for Horvat as well. I'm sorry there's no way 3 Dmen are going to cut it.

Not saying it would happen.

But what if Yzerman were willing to give up Kasper+Wallinder+Berggren/Zadina+Detroit's 2023 1st round pick (top 10 protected) That would easily trump that Columbus offer. And that very offer from Detroit has been floating around for a few months.
It would be smart for Detroit to trade for Larkin's replacement as he will be signing in Columbus to play with his best bud

My guess is that they’ll hope that the winger market will rebound if the salary cap increases by $4M as expected and will look to move Garland/Boeser and try to move expiring contracts in Myers/Pearson in order to address the defense.

Now if some team makes a great offer for Bo, I’m sure that will get them to consider moving him. But just like Miller, I think their ultimate goal is to keep him.

Yes - I did and obviously you don’t follow the Jackets, other than you going to CapFriendly?

The only UFA that would get a decent raise would be Gavrikov, Chinakhov might get $500k-$1m. Then there would be a player or 2 going back the other way to Vancouver as well as the Salary Cap rumored to be going up $4-5.5m in 2023. Would we have to move 1 more player in $1-3m range probably/maybe and Voracek’s $8m coming off in 2024.

Do you thoroughly understand or should I school you some more about the CBJ?? When obviously you are Wings fan from your username.

Exactly my point. Your arguments on why you aren't interested in a trade for Miller in this thread have been reasonable and pragmatic. While you may believe what you say about Miller only breaking out in Vancouver, it's, by any conventional metric, complete nonsense. ;-)

I would feel sorry for Bo if he chose to stay in Vancouver. He's put in more than enough time playing under a poorly run organization and he owes the team nothing.

I’m trying to think of a MASSIVE blockbuster

(hey mods, my proposal will stay on this thread, I will use threads for serious, realistic proposals)

Kind regards,

Pettersson seems like a good choice, will receive best return and he’s going to likely have a bigger cap hit.

Horvat and Miller is fine down the middle

Jarmo will find a way to f*** this up

1 playoff win in 9 years

CBJ needs a new GM, not a center to try and keep out of last place

Pettersson has a big contract negotiation coming up really soon. His agent is Pat Brisson.

We Won't Get Fooled Again.

(For those potentially not in the know: Seth Jones. Pierre-Luc Dubois. And Werenski had to fire him and replace him with another agent before he extended with us.)
