Trade Tarasenko for a 1st
Send 2-1sts plus Neighbors and Scandella for MT
That's basically the package I have going to Calgary and the only package that I believe would make sense for the Blues.

If it takes more than that, it's not worth it. Circle the wagons and hope Tkachuk is available next offseason. Otherwise you move on. We're not Matthew Tkachuk away from competing for a Cup if you subtract more valuable pieces. In fact, if this deal is done wrong, his contract will make it more difficult to do so.

Real question here. If we had Tkachuk last post season do you think he would have done some crazy shit to Kadri?
No...because he's kind of a p***y like his dad; he'd probably try to cheap-shot when he's not looking though. If you're asking if he'd actually stand-up and challenge Kadri, or smoke him with a clean check, that's more of a Brayden Schenn thing than a Tkachuk thing. They're more likely to turtle when an angry man challenges them.

That’s not really true about Keith. He was willing to answer the bell with 51 career fights and also 933 hits.

I'm specifically refering to this, with KT:

I probably don't give him the credit he deserves, because he did absolutely answer the bell and play physical in his career. But that bout of cowardice along with the whining and embellishment were always off-putting...which is weird why I like Matthew so much, because that's his M.O. as well.

That game was so good, pissed off Brendan Shanahan became Shan the Man Rahan-rahan. Shanny gets high sticked, comes back beast mode style scoring a hat trick and whipping Keith's ass. Maybe THE defining moment in his Blues career. Walt was a rook if memory serves.

I don’t agree that was cowardice. He f’d up and high stickex Shanny which didn’t look intentional. Looked like he was trying to argue he was playing the puck but he should have been smarter there. Looks like he didn’t really want to fight Shanny but Shanny was out for blood and really didn’t give Tkachuk a chance. Either way Shanny was the better player but those 2 epitomized power forwards.

I just want this entire Tkachuk thing to be over with. If it involves trading a large part of our farm, Kyrou, Tarasenko, and picks for Tkachuk I'd rather they just didn't do it.

As much as the Tkachuck drama is getting obnoxious from a Blues' fan standpoint, its got to be pretty frustrating to watch as a Calgary fan.

Although I didn't view them as legit Cup contenders, I did think they were most likely to come out of the Pacific bracket and make the WCF. They had to be thinking a SCF was just one step away, and now their future looks pretty iffy.

Horrendous that is 3 1st round picks. Who is going to offer that up? Not worth it if it takes more.
The proposal from how I interpreted it involves trading Tarasenko for a first, then trading 2 firsts (one of which presumably is acquired via trading Tarasenko) + Neighbours + Scandella for MT.

Calgary can get a current player ready to contribute + a prospect +1-2 first round picks if they trade MT now (especially if he agrees to an extension with a team). Neighbours + Scandella + 2 firsts isn't fair value as is because Scandella is basically a bottom pairing D who is paid like a top 4 D and Neighbours hasn't proven himself (yet). I feel like the discussion would have to be based off Kyrou, which I'm not comfortable with dealing him for an upgrade at a position of strength when defense is a glaring issue and it would require moving Tarasenko prior to this season, which I'm not sure is a good decision given the uncertainty regarding Neighbours/Bolduc.

There’s no way we can trade Kyrou for MT and then move Tarasenko for cap reasons. We’d be losing Perron, Tarasenko and Kyrou and only gaining MT. We aren’t that stupid, are we?
The way i look at is:
1. Perron is already gone
2. Tarasenko is gone after next season, and if we dont move him for assets now, we'll lose him for nothing next offseason. (Im fine with either decision)
3. Comes down to Kyrou vs MT, and who you like to build around more as part of the new core. (I like MT > Kyrou)

Yes, we will no doubt be a weaker offensive team over this season. BUT it is an upgraded core (IMO) going forward and could propell us right back into contention in a year or two (if we stabilize our D).

Also, Calgary has every right to take their time (up until the arb. date) to try and find the best deal for their franchise. I find it commical that some people are "so tired" of the MT drama already. All you have to do is not look up hockey related things for a few weeks like a normal offseason, or if u like to talk hockey year-round, just ignore the direct trade forums for a bit. Social media has destroyed parts of society. It's such a me "first" i have to know the second it happens race now. Sad.
