Blues Forum Lounge (Home of All Things OT) - Part 2024-2025

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Ahh I am in O'fallon MO. Was right on the edge of the most powerful part of the storm supposedly. My power flashed and went out for about 5 minutes then came back. How long has yours been out?
I grew up in O'fallon... went to Zumwalt back when there was only 1 Zumwalt. I Think it's called Zumwalt North now. I'm shocked how much that area has grown every time I visit my brother

I can distill this topic down for you.

We have evidence that:
1. High cholesterol (LDL-C) is associated with increased atherosclerosis, which is the process by which plaque builds up within the arteries.
2. Saturated fat increases LDL-C in a large percentage of people.
3. We find lots of saturated fat in dairy products and red meat.

The three statements above are well-established. Often times, public health officials and doctors will take premises (such as the 3 above) and deduce that one should limit their consumption of certain foods (e.g. bacon) to avoid cardiovascular disease. However, we do not have direct evidence that eating a particular food (i.e. dairy or red meat) causes increased plaque in people's arteries.
I will reply in a direct message.

I thought it would be fun to work in hockey ops for an nhl team. Like a bucket list check off.

I’ve got some connections with agents due to having done work for them before, and my uncle was a ref: I’ve tried (really minimal effort, like a passing mention) a few times with those type of connections and no good outcome. I feel I’d have to build some tool to show off if I really wanted to try.

Today I’m going to find out if I’m taking a long project in Kansas City. Would have to move over there for a little bit.

There’s an echl team there, the mavericks. I could beg them for some software engineering or technical “internship”. I could totally build something fun for a lesser team like this then leverage that to sneak up the ladder to an nhl club maybe?

This seems like an okay idea yeah?

I moved out here in 1994 and live near Zumwalt West. It's astonishing how much this area has grown in the 30 years we've been here. Progress is good, but I'm not gonna lie, I do miss the fields and farmhouses along Hwy K as compared to all the strip malls today.
