Completed a (hopefully?) scary part of my Helluva Boss fanfic. I'll put it right here (viewer discretion advised):

“I will never stop hurting you. I will inflict an eternity of tortures upon you that you can’t possibly imagine with your feeble mind. You will not die; I will not grant you the sweet release of death. Instead, you will become a husk, a hollow shell of yourself, a drooling vegetable left forgotten in whatever lonely mental institution I decide to throw you in. Not even a complete lobotomy would be so utterly thorough. Your mind will be wiped to a blank slate after I torture you, so that the last thing it feels is everlasting agony. That will be the only thing you will ever feel again. The pain you put Blitzy and everyone else you’ve harmed, inflicted on you a thousand-fold forever. You will feel it in every nerve, every muscle, every sinew, every bone, every blood vessel in your body, heart, soul, and whatever is left of your mind, but you will - not - die. You will be damned, your very spirit will wish it was dead and in oblivion to end your suffering, but you will - not - die. I will not let you die before you have lived as long of a life as you possibly can after I’m through with you. This is your curse forevermore, and you will feel it from now until the last miserable second of your sad, pathetic, evil life.”

There’s a bagel shop near me that I frequent that is owned and operated by a few Albanian familles.

So, now I’m learning Albanian (Shqip).

Murmenges - good morning
Faleminderit - thank you
Shihemi me vone - see you later

Very cool and unusual language that is fun to speak.

At work there's a one armed man from the Philippines, so I learned how to say good morning in Tagalog.

One morning I saw him and excitedly said my one phrase. I nailed it and went in for a high five. That's when I noticed he was carrying a box.

Note to self: don't try to high five one armed men carrying boxes lol

I love that. New Americans and other newcomers light up when they hear their native language. It helps them to feel welcomed and is what I consider to be fun.

Totally. We have a few ppl from Ghana at work, so I learned some Twi.

I was at a Stephen Marley concert in Colorado and spoke Twi to a guy that dressed like he was from Ghana. He almost fell over lol

Edit: I'm a fat white guy lol

Funny! I do the same thing with this fat, grumpy Somali lady who I know within a particular circle. She's also hilarious and chatty. One of my favorite people. She and I get along great.

I'd love to be an omniglot. I have a couple of close online friends from Germany (I've even named a stuffed animal after each, which I only do with close friends), and I know a little bit of German because that was the language I decided to pick in middle school. To make people feel welcome when they're unsure...it's a good thing to do. I'm just not that good at language.
