Completed a (hopefully?) scary part of my Helluva Boss fanfic. I'll put it right here (viewer discretion advised):

“I will never stop hurting you. I will inflict an eternity of tortures upon you that you can’t possibly imagine with your feeble mind. You will not die; I will not grant you the sweet release of death. Instead, you will become a husk, a hollow shell of yourself, a drooling vegetable left forgotten in whatever lonely mental institution I decide to throw you in. Not even a complete lobotomy would be so utterly thorough. Your mind will be wiped to a blank slate after I torture you, so that the last thing it feels is everlasting agony. That will be the only thing you will ever feel again. The pain you put Blitzy and everyone else you’ve harmed, inflicted on you a thousand-fold forever. You will feel it in every nerve, every muscle, every sinew, every bone, every blood vessel in your body, heart, soul, and whatever is left of your mind, but you will - not - die. You will be damned, your very spirit will wish it was dead and in oblivion to end your suffering, but you will - not - die. I will not let you die before you have lived as long of a life as you possibly can after I’m through with you. This is your curse forevermore, and you will feel it from now until the last miserable second of your sad, pathetic, evil life.”

There’s a bagel shop near me that I frequent that is owned and operated by a few Albanian familles.

So, now I’m learning Albanian (Shqip).

Murmenges - good morning
Faleminderit - thank you
Shihemi me vone - see you later

Very cool and unusual language that is fun to speak.

At work there's a one armed man from the Philippines, so I learned how to say good morning in Tagalog.

One morning I saw him and excitedly said my one phrase. I nailed it and went in for a high five. That's when I noticed he was carrying a box.

Note to self: don't try to high five one armed men carrying boxes lol

I love that. New Americans and other newcomers light up when they hear their native language. It helps them to feel welcomed and is what I consider to be fun.

Totally. We have a few ppl from Ghana at work, so I learned some Twi.

I was at a Stephen Marley concert in Colorado and spoke Twi to a guy that dressed like he was from Ghana. He almost fell over lol

Edit: I'm a fat white guy lol

Funny! I do the same thing with this fat, grumpy Somali lady who I know within a particular circle. She's also hilarious and chatty. One of my favorite people. She and I get along great.

I'd love to be an omniglot. I have a couple of close online friends from Germany (I've even named a stuffed animal after each, which I only do with close friends), and I know a little bit of German because that was the language I decided to pick in middle school. To make people feel welcome when they're unsure...it's a good thing to do. I'm just not that good at language.

I love languages and make an effort to learn as much as possible. It's always been fun for me since high school Spanish to learn new languages. Next, I need to learn how to order my food in Shqip and listen for their accent, which will be much softer than mine. It's my idea of fun.

Language fascinates me now, I wish I paid more attention in my high school Spanish classes.

Watched a youtube vid of this dude that speaks a ton of different languages and he would travel and speak the native language wherever he was traveling at, and immediately people open up and are friendly, I thought that was so rad and it inspired me to learn different languages.

Where I work for some reason a lot of Russian ppl shop there and i learned some basic Russian phrases so I could interact with them in their own language and its always fun to see how they respond. I can’t roll the tongue with words that start with a “R” sound but otherwise can mimic the language pretty well.

I’ve learned what the South Korean version of the middle finger is from a few Koreans at my work

I took German in high school, loved it. I haven’t retained as much as I wish I would’ve but I can stumble my way through the basics lol

I blew away an old Italian man somewhere over there when I busted out some Italian that I learned on the fly. Italian is easy cuz it’s a lot like Spanish and is based on Latin like English, which is, of course, Germanic with loads of French and Latin and Greek. English is cool cuz it’s so plastic.

I'm most likely going to Albania this summer. Brother-in-law owns some properties there because it was the "trendy hidden gem" for Scandinavians a few years ago; now the rest of western Europe is going there.

Hidden gem, for sure. When I asked the bagel shop peeps what language they were speaking, which was Albanian, my reply was, Oohh! Mysterious!

They all laughed and said, Yep!!

I have this clip in with my music and it popped up today, so I will be in a good mood for the rest of the day no matter what

"I want to look him straight in the eye, and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

I have a new role at work. Went from computer geek to cleaning chemicals out of machines. It sucks, but every time I wanna quit, I think of something I read about Navy Seal training.

A Sailor going through BUDS training was wanting to quit until he read a letter from his mom. In short she said, I'm sure if the other boys can do it, so can you.

In the Navy I was in two different avionics shops.

One was electronic counter measures/deceptive electronic counter measures. Our slogan was: Zap 'em till it hertz.

The other avionics shop was fire missile control RADAR. Our slogan was: We put warheads on foreheads.
