So has Berrios this year. Except one is paid a boatload of money. Hoping our piece finds his way back to being goodI really liked the drafting of Martin but he's been a dud.
Somebody should tell Vladdy![]()
And Groshans has his career best batting average and on base percentage (minors and high school) as a 22 year old in AAA who has missed a lot of development time since drafted (injury and loss of 2020)
According to this guy, Martin isn’t on the list;
Zulueta 5 IP, 5 K's, 1 hit, 1 BB, 0 runs
Tiedemann goes for the C's tomorrow
I wonder if we will see Zuluet with the Jays later in the year. He's 24 and could be a good bullpen addition.
I don't see it. I think they view him as a starter long term, and if they start his 40 man clock you're essentially committing to burning 2 option years to do that as he's not going to be a MLB starter by the start of 2024. They also have Pearson, Juenger, Hernandez, and even Eisert and maybe Palmer who I think they'd go to ahead of him. Perhaps even Frasso as well depending on how they view him long term. IIRC when he was drafted the feeling was more pen arm who could move quickly. Of course if they really believe in him as a starter as well you can ditch that idea right away for the same reasons but even more pronounced as he's in A ball not high A(though I think he and Santos get promoted soon with Robberse moving up to AA)
Morris has looked very good as well. .324 avg, .448 obp, .941 ops. He should probably be considered a top 10 prospect soon.I did, but apparently pointing out flaws in a local celebrity's swing hurt everyone's feelings.
Glad the A's were happy to take Smith over Groshans. He has plenty of time to find his power stroke, and given how Chapman and Gurriel are playing, in a couple years he'll slot in nicely in left or 3rd or wherever we need him.
Huh. I must have missed him, although I don't have access to my usual resources.Morris has looked very good as well. .324 avg, .448 obp, .941 ops. He should probably be considered a top 10 prospect soon.

Zulueta is in A+. He made 3 starts with Dunedin before moving up (remember that Vancouver leapfrogged Dunedin to A+ when they became a full-season team).
I wouldn't be that surprised to see him at some point this year, but I agree the fact he's starting might complicate it a bit. Even then, he's probably at least in New Hampshire by the end of the year and a legitimate candidate for a roster spot next year.

Groshans, Tanner Morris, Orelvis Martinez is some ridiculous prospect talent for the left side of the infield. Jays infield is stacked.
I believe he was referring to Frasso being in A ball. Also seems like he’s getting some more praise as a starter since FG had good things to say about him and have updated him from a 35+ to a 40+. He’s still a bit behind the curve right now though and should be promoted soon.
Also, Celestino will likely take Kepler's spot since he just cleared COVID protocols, Correa is still out as best we can tell, Ryan appears not ready for TO, and Gray is on the 15 day IL. Paddack is on the 60 day list.That's their second most productive position player, arguably their 3rd best BP arm, their 6th best, and their worst.

We really need to start thinking about moving some of these guys for depth we need elsewhere. The infield is pretty much set at this point. And Martinez really needs to start hitting better. All power guys don't tend to do much in the majors.
