CapFriendly still listing Blackwood as being on IR...though they also have Bastian listed on the roster. Guessing Bastian was placed on IR at some point and they're going 13-7-3 for now.

Holiday Roster Freeze also goes into effect after tonight, so that may have also been partially the reason for Blackwood's call-up today (and/or he was nearing the end of the allowed conditioning stint anyway).

Ok so we're back to original tandem (uneasy about this!), and Sevs have served his penance (ok fine).

Are we getting Palat back anytime soon, we could really use a guy who is ready to provide a huge boost to this team.

(Assuming Nate Bastian news is also no where to be found.....)

....and the other bad news is I really screwed up a foot/ankle over the weekend and spent some time in ER and won't be going to any games for the next few weeks at minimum, need to see a orthopedic guy ASAP. Stuck on crutches...

They're going to try and make Mackenzie Blackwood happen again.

I swear I have never seen anything like this where a sh-tty goaltender gets so much worship by this staff, that it would make even Marty jealous.

Because this one time, THREE YEARS AGO, Blackwood was really hot for 3 months.

Because doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result is called insanity.

There was reason to give Blackwood another chance going into this year, because we really didn't have better options behind him.

Now we've gotten a taste of a better option

I hope we will all be not rooting against him. Crazy Schmid is getting sent down with his stats and record. Sure Saturday he fanned on a glove save for Florida's 2nd goal. Nobody is perfect that's gonna happen. We see that with MB29 with more regularity. Yeah this is getting fun.

Don't get me wrong, I mean, i feel a bit bad for MBW because it hasn't turned out well from the original burst he had, but its been reasonably clear this season he is not really "the guy" to count on.

Unless he turns it out around this stint, I don't know how many more tries we gonna keep giving him.

God forbid Schmid goes to the AHL and has a rough few games down there.

Hopefully we don't see him hardly at all, but with Vitek's recent struggles (Which haven't been THAT BAD, really) I'm sure they'll give him a chance to split starts or start 40%-45% of the games.

I wonder if when Freddie the Fossil is healthy enough to play in Carolina, if they'll send Kochetkov back and go with the two old pieces of shit that can't seem to take a piss without suffering some kind of penial tear.
