Guessing this makes Blackwood and Fourgiev's salary equal?
I have no idea if the 14% is prorated, but if it's not, we save 574k

Which already could be too much for us, that's how tight we are.
Went from two Eastern European goalies to two good old Canadian boys.
It's a fair point, but the guys is already on the older end for prospects. Like @RoyIsALegend said im just glad it's not Ivan going the other way.Again, what were you expecting from him in 28 games of his 1st NHL season?
Did we save some Salary Cap for this season by trading Georgiev?
OH, that would be nice.Losing a forward, and wanting to keep Colton at wing, makes me hope the Avs are going after Evans now with this new found (200k) cap space.
A lot of people were down on Kivi when I was pining for him for a depth forward before last season, and I couldn’t figure out why. Now I’m thinking they hadn’t seen him play - people seem to like himIvan made Kovy expendable. Also I bet a Kiviranta extension is coming.
C'mon now... if we read back half the posts about George the past 2 MONTHS, people are saying stuff like "I don't care what it costs, you have to address it" and then when he does, people flip out.
The reactions over here are just over the top. People went nuts when we trade Annunen for what was 'supposed to be' a lateral move at best and waddaya know, Wedgewood has been good so far.
Now we make a trade for a goalie that's been able to post .899 s% in 44 starts last year and .910 sv% in 17 starts this year on that TIRE FIRE team in San Jose and people are still flipping out ?
There are a lot of examples of goaltenders who weren't fantastic earlier on in their careers only to get to 26-27 years old and seem to figure it out.
I'm just THRILLED TO SHIT that Georgiev is gone.
Kovalenko has solid 3rd line upside. Decent 2 way player.Avs fans! I cannot find an actual decent explanation of the kind of player Kovalenko is and I'm very curious. From what I gather he's a fast, sorta-skilled guy who is just getting his chance to play this year and is still adapting to NHL ice? What do you think his ceiling his? How has he looked for you so far? I feel like half the posts are like OH NO HE'S ONE OF OUR BEST PROSPECTS and the other are WHO CARES HE'S BARELY A BOTTOM 6 FORWARD so I don't know what's real.
Thanks! As I said on the main board, Blackwood has actually been fantastic this year and has had some incredible saves. He does his best when he sees a lot of rubber but he's been very good and it's a smart bet to take, I think. Also, Givanni Smith is actually a good 4th liner in my opinion, we just have a lot of them. He's fast and sometimes surprises you with his hands.
There’s certainly a chance that Kovy will improve, he’s shown a lot of flashes of cleverness, but he wasn’t going to help a lot this year. I would have liked to watch him develop, but I’d much rather be filled with Wood. It's a fair point, but the guys is already on the older end for prospects. I'm not as sold on Kovalenko as everyone else. But some of you probably have a better ability to see the potential than myself.
