Okay, you don't watch or know much about the Devils. It's okay
This is not meant to be rude, it's just obvious if you think Bratt and Puljujarvi are close in value.
I am an Oiler fan 80 games a season (only the 2 against NJ) so I watch a lot of Oiler games and all the Devil games.
Your opinion on Woodi is odd to say the least, he led this team in goals last season and was an absolute menace every time he touched the ice. He is quite physical hits, will fight and is terrible to play against.
He is coming off a major injury sure, but he's played a couple games and will hopefully play the rest of them, this hypothetical trade would be happening in the offseason anyway, assuming he plays the rest without issue and has the full offseason to recover he should be good as new.
I do agree about Blackwood probably not being the best option for the Oilers but getting him plus Wood makes them a lot tougher to play against IMO
I didn't say they were close in value. I just said those would be the only pieces I would be willing to discuss in a hypothetical Puljujarvi trade. Hughes and Hischier would be wasted on the third line or shifted to the wing. You want something better for a couple of lesser pieces, which is fine, standard operating procedure for HF, but I'm not interested in that in the least and the Oilers shouldn't be either.
He really isn't that physical. His career high in hits is 102, he had a grand total of 38 last year. Yamamoto is more physical than that. Foegele has 109 this year and he's not really that physical either. Wood has fought twice in the last three years, and frankly that doesn't add any value to me whatsoever.
Ultimately, I think you know that Wood is a lesser player than Puljujarvi, who is younger, better, not injured and the definition of nightmarish to play against. You're hoping to get him for a couple of guys that you could do without, which is fine, I just want no part of it because I don't buy what you're selling on Wood and i've more than said my piece on Blackwood, who I honestly have trouble seeing having any value whatsoever, never mind enough to make up the gap between Wood and Puljujarvi.
