I am sure you take it to Bowman on your PlayStation 4 all the time...

Judging by your posts here it is pretty obvious you would have no chance against him. Hell you can even punctuate your posts...

Do you know anything about Murphy?

Did you not see the decline in Hammer's game the last quarter of the regular season and in the playoffs? \

Here are some facts:

- Murphy played top 4 minutes last season for AZ and while getting the highest number of Dzone starts he had the highest Corsi.
- He was a first round pick
- He skates very well (thought we needed speed?)
- He is physical and does not shy away in the corners
- He can move the puck
- He is fine on the PK and will block shots
- He is still learning growing as a player but has solid defensive instincts

What adult calls another adult a loser because of how they look? Really? Being articulate and intelligent makes a person a loser?

Great post. I knew nothing about him before today, so that's a nice round up. TY

His D zone coverage might be his biggest area he needs to grow because there are some inconsistencies there but it is a fixable thing to me and should get better as he ages and grows as a player. Forgot to add that.

Interesting fact, Murphy's dad is Gord Murphy who played 15 years in the NHL. He is an assistant with the Flyers right now.

****ing right. It's a good thing. Bloodlines matter a lot, but moreso in hockey.

Bad trade. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make the playoffs this year. Hate losing JVR too.

Yes he looks soft af, I am not making fun of his actual natural looks he was born with but his face expressions, how he carries himself, his low voice, and his body language, if you don't see the lack of confidence then I can't help you, you just don't know how to read people. Yes I have watched Murphy play numerous times and he is not in the same league as Hammer is, not even close.

He has every reason to be confident. If that's the issue, I'm sure we have someone here who can help him out.

You mean he acts like a calculated adult, got it. There is nothing wrong with his body language. If you watch a majority of GMs talk it is all the same way. Including everyone's dream GM Stevie Y. This is a hockey thing. So your take is just brutally wrong.

Playing for AZ and Chicago are completely different animals. Murphy has the potential to be Hammer but more physical and a better skater. Hammer was bad the last quarter of the season and the post season. He looked slower and like he is declining. Was he hurt? Nothing like that was implied by the Hawks post season. Hammer is close to the age where players fall off and he has WAY more miles. What issues do you see? Or are you going to avoid actual putting context to your claims.

So when Toews is slow and non existent for two years we hear "it's just a phase and he will come back", when hammer is not playing out of his mind for maybe a quarter of the season we get "he's declining" and it was a good trade lol. Everyone in the league is celebrating this move even Coyotes fans who have watched Murphy play EVERY GAME. How you or anyone is actually defeating this trade just blows my mind. Through the two off seasons I have been going crazy over the countless stupid moves Stan has made while you and a few others sut here and explain for hours(you know with your "punctuation" and all) why that he's making good moves and the team just keeps going down hill, I will say it again these moves will just make the team worse next year, you keep convincing yourself otherwise.

Where did I say this trade makes the team better next year? I didn't. This is a trade moving Hammer before the falloff for a cost controlled #4 D who skates well and has upside. In a silo, AZ wins the trade for the coming season unless the struggle we saw with Hammer is the falloff. If that happens, the Hawks clearly win the trade.

Trading Toews is not going to happen and it would 100% end the run. Toews has to regain form for the Hawks to have a chance. We have all talked about Toews's issues and you keep making up that people are ok with it. No one is.

Stan has made good moves and bad ones and again you are making up the narrative that know thinks he makes bad deals. Stop making **** up, it is annoying and pathetic.

Tough to trust stats for this guy considering who he played for last season and realistically he was only a top pairing guy because he was on Arizona.

As I digest though, I think I like this move in the macro.

Good breakdown.

While Hammer is a huge loss, the front office deemed the cup window was closing with the present core roster and are moving on. Both Saad and Murphy bring much needed playoff size to the table on a roster that is short on physicality to begin with. You know the team is soft when Panik registers the most hits on the team. Murphy is a big boy (6'4 215pds) who can skate. Also he was Captain of Team USA in which that sort of title aren't just handed out to anyone less they show true leadership on and off the ice

Bobby is gonna love this guy.

And Stan has a tendency to hold onto players a year or two too long when they start declining. Hopefully this time, he nails the mark.

hammer was on the downswing it was clear as day this past year and you know what when Q played him with 2 hammer was not anywhere near the elite shutdown defender that we grew to love. He was ordinary.

I for one think that Murphy is what Stan targeted after he got shut down tying to get hanafin or faulk from the hurricanes. I like his contract and I think he has very good potential to be really effective in our D Core which is going to be infused with youth this year.(not including keith and sea brook)

I would have thought that Stan could have gotten a bit better player than Dauphin in addition but any case who nows how it will shake out, I think its going to work out for us in the end.

If Hjammer was on the downswing than Keith and Seabs are walking corpses...

On his own I think Robocop will be fine. From a whole-team-D standpoint unless Matt Guitar Murphy (choose the nickname you prefer) can cover for Keith in the backend and prop him up Crawford/Glass/Forsberg/etc. might need to take some preventative PTSD therapy sessions since it will be 2016 all over again.

I don't know why you put Keith in there.

Keith has started to slow down a tick, but there's no question his game will age much better because of the style play than Hammer and Seabrook.

I love Hammer and the guys a warrior but blocking as many shots as he does doesn't translate into aging gracefully.
