Is it too late to trade Laf for a 2nd rounder now? I feel like we missed our window and may have to settle for a 3rd and a B prospect.
Haven't you heard, he is gonna have to do a PTO after this contract if we don't trade him for a can of Zoodles.

Not enough love for Cuylle in this thread. Was the best player on what was a very effective line.

Also hit a max of 21 MPH getting up the ice. The "he is slow" meme should be dead.
Who said he was slow? lol
Plus for his size he definitely is NOT slow.

There was a lot to like tonight.

The biggest thing is that the team played like a team and within the system. That was what we were waiting on for a long time.

Fox was shooting the puck on the power play. We’ve been saying for a while that we need different looks on the power play. If we can get a Fox/Panarin to Kreider lane going, the opposing PK won’t be able to sit on Zibanejad’s one timer so much. I disagree with what Sam and Joe were saying about Kreider not getting enough looks/touches on the PP last year. He got plenty but they wouldn’t go in. He reverted hard to the mean after everything seemed to go in for him two years ago.

The Panarin-Chytil-Laf line looked great. Chytil had a bit of a rough game. Panarin and Lafreniere looked more engaged than last year.

Cuylle looked like he was exactly where he was supposed to be: on the LW of a third line of an NHL team.

*In my best impersonation of broadcaster version of Phil Esposito*

"Ahhh crap, wrong thread."

Meant to post this in here but had the wrong thread open. Roast away.

I sincerely hopes this sticks with Laf and Panarin. I hope Laviolette talked up Lafreniere in telling him to go attack and don't worry about fumbles and that the team is there for turnovers and just play your game, and he told Panarin that this isn't "New York TYPICAL!!!" in you choosing your linemates either. If Panarin awakes and embraces the young blood and they click - well I'm just going to call it a night because I ain't getting too far ahead of myself here.

Hope you all had a good night, Buffalo has a great team coming in hot. Cheers!

Bonino doesn't do much on offense but he did some nice things
Bread was great
That faceoff win by Bonino was an ace vet play, not much offensively but wise defensively

he really is the heart if this team. he’s the glue that binds the team. he’s the rug that ties the room together.
