I had to watch on DVR because of a work dinner but that was a pretty damn good game. Already see more structure, particularly in the NZ with much more support and tighter gaps all over the ice and the forecheck had more purpose and direction. I hope they keep these lines together for a little while here and see what they can do, really liked the Panarin line.

Nice way to start the season, can't really ask for more than that. We looked more structured moving the puck than we did in pre-season so it's nice to see they were able to flick the switch.
PK was very good, the Panarin line looked good and Cuylle had a nice start. Really good to see Laf get one early and be engaged all game, all the PK time in the last hurt him a bit.

Dahlin not getting a point stopped the run of #1OA scoring a point in their season debut this season. We got from Bedard to Hughes
Berard, Hughes, and Lafreniere ;)

Chris Kreider has scored 100 goals in his last 180 regular season games.

He's scored 110 goals in the 211 games played on his current contract.

I just find it ironic we have a home grown elite level goal scorer, in his prime, on what is actually a bargain of a contract and some parts of the fanbase are always talking about getting rid of him or always complain about him. He may honestly be one of the most under-appreciated Rangers of all time.

Because of the big, dumb jock stereotype, he used to not get enough credit (it's better now among Rangers fans) for how toolboxy he is.

He's such a clean, tight, heady player that understands how to play to his skills and always do the right thing.

He did take the one penalty but it's not the end of the world if he throws his body, they matched it up, and over large samples, he's actually improved that aspect of his game dramatically.

He's honestly not Wayne Gretzky with the puck on his stick and we've seen countless players who are unable to translate the speed and size.

All of Montreal after hearing that:
