Hey Von, you find out who your real friends are when it's time to move
He can upgrade to a nice high efficiency furnace in the new house.

He averaged about 3.5 catches per game in LA and never had a bad thing to say and in fact has made it clear he'd like to return there. The unabashed crush that these players around the league have for OBJ is far exceeding his actual impact/value at this point. Dude is probably a solid #2 WR when he's healthy next but because a lot of guys think he's cool and are stuck in 2015, they are throwing other teammates under the bus for him. Zeke is doing it with the Cowboys now, too.
My thing is, sure he'll be nice to have but if we have any adversity he's a legitimate risk to start bitching and moaning and he's also going to potentially stunt the development for Davis and Shakir as he will absolutely expect a certain amount of targets every game. Diggs is the leader in that lockerroom and he leads by example and by being selfless. That isn't OBJ.
But because he's the popular guy in school, I mean the NFL, other guys will fawn over him and beg this guy who may not even be the same player anymore to join the team.
I trust front offices more than the players when it comes to talent evaluation, personally. I've seen it far too often in the NBA where the players try to build teams and are short-sighted and then we wind up with the Lakers and the Nets. The NFL is a different animal altogether, but the theme is the same: players aren't usually good roster builders.
Davis has been inconsistent this year, too. He's underperformed expectations. A couple big drops last week against the Jets. I don't recall many plays against the Packers, either. He's boom or mediocre at this point. I'm not giving up on him, but I am concerned. He averaged about 3.5 catches per game in LA and never had a bad thing to say and in fact has made it clear he'd like to return there.

McKenzie has straight up sucked in the slot role. OBJ could play there as well, or you cycle OBJ and Diggs in the slot. Truth is- the passing offense is being funneled through Diggs at the moment. Maybe that's because Allen was off? Either way, I want Shakir to get reps in the slot and I want to sign OBJ.
Maybe Davis does reel it in a becomes more consistent. I have no hope for McKenzie becoming a viable slot option, though. So even if Davis does reel it in- you're putting a lot of pressure on a rookie WR to play a majority of the slot snaps. OBJ would ease some of the pressure and provide depth to the outside.
Interesting thread on Davis:
McKenzie sucking in the slot is really disappointing to me. Not only because it hurts the Bills offense, but also because I backed him hard in the offseason. Really thought he'd seize the opportunity, but he's been awful there. With Crowder being out long term- McD needs to go against his usual 'be as cautious as possible with rookie WRs' and give Shakir a shot in the slot. McKenzie has killed too many drives for my liking. He singlehandedly almost lost us the KC game (tripping on an easy TD pass and dropping the lateral from Allen). Can't have that in the playoffs. One of the other things that Joe Marino pointed out on Locked On Bills the other day was that Davis has seen his contested catch numbers regress to rughly what they were his rookie year after improving last season.
So, the hope that Davis would build on last season, be even better, and solidify himself as a solid WR2 next to Diggs has yet to play out.
Kind of like how there was some hope that McKenzie would step up and be a bigger impact player than he had been previously.

Davis has at least had a few games where he shined, but the consistency just isn't there.
That's a great point, but I wonder if they'd be more keen to use Hines in the slot. He's more experienced.Throw Cook in the slot. You can motion him in and out of there depending on the defense.
That’s what I’m hoping for. Start getting Hines snaps in the slot and if he does we’ll start giving him more. He was a WR his first season in college, and I think in high school (but I’m not 100% sure on that). That's a great point, but I wonder if they'd be more keen to use Hines in the slot. With Singletary, Cook, and Hines, they could go wishbone...They could put Josh Allen in as a running back this week. Ground game solved.
Interesting thread on Davis:
I think that is probably a fair assumption at this point. Hopefully the team rallies around Case and can get a W at home vs the Vikings.I don't think Allen is playing.
I would say odds are about 10% at this point. The more I look at the replay of the elbow bending I'm surprised it's not for the season.I don't think Allen is playing.
