My problem is when it's one of the types of players that he likes or is buddies with (like Foligno or Zucc,) he gets a deal done immediately. Hell, didn't he do a handshake deal with Goligoski? He doesn't waste time at all and throws all the fancy trimmings in with their deals.

Then you have the other guys who he gives a hard time. Not to beat a dead horse, but look at his negotiations with Fiala....a player with more talent and importance than his "buddies." He appeared to make negotiations difficult and it ended badly. How long did it take to re-sign Addison? He even dragged his feet a bit with Kaprizov. He either drags out discussions or fights tooth and nail to low ball a contract. Imagine how things will go if Rossi stays afloat.

It honestly terrifies me thinking of how he's gonna #$@! things up with Kap's upcoming negotiations. Ya know, unless they become "besties" by then.

His entire job relies on extending Kaprizov, so if he's smart...nvm

Exactly.

He needs to extend guys who make us better not just in the regular season but when it matters most in the postseason too. If we don't have that, then save your damn money and NMC's to find other players who will. Don't handicap the team with this crap. Foligno was a disaster last year, and was an actual liability in the postseason. Four more years.....what are we doing?

I don’t blame him much for Addison lagging, because it made sense to get Gustavsson done first. And once that got done, there wasnt much negotiating to do with Addison; the remaining space was the remaining space.

Gotta come up with a more creative tagline I think but the sentiment is there
Billy G is not my GM.....he's just a guy who claims them....

Back to a 1. Thought he might have had a plan to swing big on Free Agents over the next two years but that was clearly wrong. Guy is a f***ing idiot and has always been one.

Who'll last longer? Guerin or Foligno?
good one. Because Folingo's contract doesn't start till next season, so we will have another 5 years of him. What will that be, 9, or 10 years in charge for Guerin by that time? If he doesn't have significant success by that time then Leipold will have to be be getting itchy.

The writing on the wall has been there for Guerin to fail. Zero improvement anywhere in this lineup from when he came in, maybe excluding Gus.

We’re worse at every level. Grit though 🤮

And don’t give me the prospect spiel, none of his prized prospects have done shit.

I was very patient with the guy, giving him the benefit of the doubt that he was waiting for the dead cap to go away then to for it... but now he's just creating more of the same, throwing cap away to zero on ice benefit that goes well past....

The signs were there from day 1 with the Spurgeon contract... I should've seen this coming.

I've generally disagreed with most every move he's made, I just thought... "just maybe" he's waiting for maneuvering room. It's clear now he has no idea what the hell he's doing. It's all about "I like this guy, I'll sign him! " nothing to do with "does this make the team better"
Basically, it's nepotism. Guerin thinks he knows better than anyone in the room, or that's the impression I get from the interviews and from his signings. I actually don't mind the signing of Zuccs, that makes sense. But the signing of Foligno is just bad.

We could have signed Fitzgerald, Yzerman, Zito...though glad we dodge Hextell.

But this is just going to mire Minnesota in mediocrity. Playoffs or bust. Not Stanley Cup or Bust, but playoffs.

I didn't mind either signing of Zucc (i even congratulated Fentonon the first deal) ... my only gripe with this recent one, no reason to do it now vs in January, it's not like he was going to get more expensive, also, no need for the NMC.
