No , all i was looking for was a single series win. Just any spark , this ain’t a cup team but laying down against this pathetic starts squad is trash

This Stars squad is not pathetic, they are a good team with arguably a better goaltender than ours (proven thus far in the series). What’s impressive in your “logic” here, is there are very-real facts that point to why we are struggling. Many of which aren’t reflective of a “pathetic” Stars squad.
I’m sure you know what they are.

And we have a real reason for it. Poor coaching, moronic player antics, terrible faceoffs, our best center injured.
No curse needed. Real problems.

It’s called internet hyperbole , if you’re not entertained by it then lighten up Francis
Looking and expecting for things external to you is quite literally the opposite of stoicism.
Just a friendly reminder.

Hm. Then apply similar logic to your supposed idea of a “curse” and move on.
Nothing external to you should bother you to the point of confused principles and notions.
Sports are a non consequential fringe portion of my life. I’ll tell you though. My dad said the trash vikings would break my heart after he saw me getting all worked up and bought in during the 98 run. He’d watched this worthless team and state go to the superbowl 4 times and against all odds lose every time. Now every Mn team I’ve followed has done the exact same snatching defeat from jaws of victory. This trash state is tainted and I can’t explain it:

Hey , whatever the excuse is this year is fine. When the excuses start adding up to decades of futility against all odds then there is a systemic problem. When that problem displays itself across 4 different sporting franchises and markets then it extends beyond the things related to those specific teams. We have an issue in this state

Then let it go.
You’re probably a smart guy , I enjoy your perspective .

Nobody is denying a systemic problem, what is being denied is the existence of a "curse".

Again, I've witnessed 2 Twins titles only 4 years apart.

And again that was 32 years ago and in that time they lost 18 post season games consecutively and the odds of that occurring were 1:300000 ……it’s way way way beyond just a run if bad luck

Nah I’m just a realist and know we are cursed with having to watch this garbage for the rest of my life. All 4 sports , every year. Disgusting disappointment . Pretty simple
Curses aren't real and no one is forcing you to watch.

Aren't you absolving Evason, the management and the roster from all blame if you believe they are literally cursed?
In the same way that I absolve Norm Green for moving my team 30 years ago so they could immediately win a cup for some shithole in Texas.

5 years later is immediate?
And prove curses exist. I'm a Cubs fan. They don't.

If Guerin fails to get a top 6 center this offseason or by TDL next year, I’m ready to fire him.

Not holding my breath for that. Not all that upset if he doesn't get one either, but if you're not gonna get one, don't go out there pretending like you have a team that can win. Should be making the moves like trading Dumba, trading Zuccarello, trading Foligno, etc, when those opportunities arise. There's no point in keeping those guys around past their expiration date and getting no assets for them when you're aren't a serious competitor.

Would like him to pick a lane this summer, but expecting more of the same.

I hate it that you are probably right. I wish he would take a page out of the legendary Sam Pollock's book, and trade players one year before their decline, rather than one year after. I'm not sure that BG has that kind of foresight, though. For that matter, i'm not sure that he's very smart, at all.

I was furious last year, but this year I'm simply resigned. This group just doesn't have it.

We are already playing Ek and three plugs at center. If we are going to continue to play plugs, you'd think we could find a couple that can win 55% of their faceoffs.

Ek being out for the series pretty much showed that your centers have to be x-factor quality in order to win. The team looked lost without him.

I'm ready to move on from Zucc, Johansson, Foligno, Hartman and Steel. Find some other players to see if one of them actually has heart.

You keep Hartman because of his low cap hit. He is an asset to the team as is. Lead the team in points in the playoffs...pretty good for 1.7M. MJO, it depends on what he'll re-sign for. 2x2M, you keep him all day. We simply don't have the prospects who can step in and play right now, and good players usually cost money and/or prospects.

The others, i am with you. Can't fault Steel for lack of effort...not his fault that he is a borderline NHL'er at best. Zucc has been really good, but has no future with us, and even though he is worth his cap hit for a team with a normal cap situation, we are anything but that.

Hartman is a third liner that is propped up by a superstar player. He shouldn't even play center, since he was the worst of our four centers at under 43% faceoff win percentage. Not a single one of our centers was over 50% for faceoffs this year. Go back to our last playoff series win in 15-16, Koivu 56% Carter 54% Haula 53% and Granlund was the worst of the group at 48.6%. That is a dramatic difference from what we currently have.

I felt like Johansson was good for a bit there, but then he reverted back to the player I remember the first time he was here.

Here is what I have set in stone for next year:

Kaprizov-XXXX-XXXX
Boldy-Eriksson Ek-XXXX
XXXX-Gaudreau-XXXX
Duhaime-Dewar-XXXX

XXXX-Spurgeon
Brodin-Faber
XXXX-XXXX

XXXX (Gus)

The franchise might have to consider Boldy at center if they can't get someone. There is zero excuse to continue using the same guys for the third straight year. It doesn't work. It's the GM's job to improve the position.

You're not getting my point about Hartman. What do you think 1.7M gets you on the open market? We are a cap strapped team... he is an asset as a 3rd liner at that price ,let alone a guy who is a RHS who can also play C. You don't let those guys go. If he was making 3-4M it would be a different story.

Again, he lead the team in playoff points... I mean, what are your expectations for 1.7M/yr?

All those XXXX's How do you propose to fill them in? With what cash? Where are we going to get not only one, but two, first liners to play with Kaprizov?

At least Hartman showed up in this series. Other than Nyquist probably our best forward.
