Has anyone else watched Netflix's Narcos? I finished the ten episodes and I'm impressed. It would be an interesting concept once the Escobar story finishes if they focused on a new drug lord each season sort of similar to how True Detective is

I totally forgot that Wes Craven wrote and directed the original version of "The Last House On The Left." D'oh!!!

That film and the original "A Nightmare On Elm Street" are his only films I like.

R.I.P. though. The dude gave a generation nightmares for sure.

I've been looking for a book to read this entire summer (hit up the old classics, as usual by the beach)...came across "Ready Player One." Heard some good reviews about it, Armada not so much and I'll wait on that book from Cline, for now, looking forward to some down time to catch up on some reading.

Are you guys reading any interesting books right now? (I'm sure I will get some interesting joke responses here).

Agreed. I didn't even bother scouting last year because it was so bad.

Yeah, in NHL and MLB I tend to do the scouting and wind up simming my drafts because the resulting information doesn't actually help me make decisions. It doesn't help that MLB in particular drops or alters some of the information (unless I'm missing something). MLB ETA disappears entirely and the potential overall gets translated to a letter grade. So you wind up with guys with like A potential who aren't supposed to reach the majors for 15 years.

NHL's drafting and development has been a joke for years. Most players, even top 5-10 picks, seem to take 5+ years to develop (but players with decent potential wind up getting close to it almost always, so a total bust of a 1st rounder will wind up with an 80s OVR when he's 27 and you traded him for peanuts three years before) and the CPU-generated drafts are insanely shallow. Though I've heard they improved the latter in 15 (maybe only on previous gen)? The main problem with NHL scouting is that it forces you to scout 100s of players en masse.

Meanwhile in Madden I drafted a potential franchise QB late in the second or third round (I forget exactly at the moment) thanks to scouting (and a little luck). The one time I tried - based on need - taking a guy I hadn't scouted, I got burned. That's good stuff. Honestly, everyone else should just rip it right off.

The NHL series for a very long time has been a joke. It's just not enjoyable, the game is the definition of insanity.

It's repetitive and people expect it to be different each time, but it's never different, it's the same **** over and over. They make the same game over and over and expect people to fall for the bs that it's different when it's not.

- Scouting sucks.
- Simulation sucks.
- It does not even come half as close to being as good as FIFA or Madden from the same EA Sports company.
- It's slow, insanely slow with loading times. I bought the last NHL game for my Xbox One and holy crap, it loads like the old consoles, the game is not smooth whatsoever. The game play is terrible, the graphics are nice but not nearly as nice as FIFA and Madden and why? Why isn't it? What graphic detail is too hard to translate for an NHL game where they can do such an amazing job with Madden and FIFA but fall so far off the mark with NHL?

FIFA & Madden have cult like statuses for how much people love those games and I can see why, I have friends that are a huge fan of FIFA and while I am not a fan of soccer/futbol, I love Madden and while my interest in the NFL has waned a ton the last few years, I enjoy that game immensely because of how immersed you are with your franchise and game play, you're very hands on, but the disconnect with those 2 Gaming franchises vs the NHL one is massive, like Earth & Sun's distance massive.

NHL is just...there. It exists because we're stupid and we buy that piece of garbabe.

It pisses me off.

In other news, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Note Plus 12.2 today, well online, it arrives tomorrow. Pretty excited for it, passing on my 10.1 to my gf since she wants a tablet and I am a care freak with my gadgets so it's still pretty brand new (hell I got it 3yrs ago and I still have the box and everything).

Yay for a new toy.

Boo to EA and their NHL game.

Boo to me for neglecting my consoles too, what a dick I am.

Let's rename the rein-deer.

I'll go first, .. Hamburg. Is this an awful idea? Lets get a sleigh together. We can do it if we all pull our weight. Ice Cream is a keeper, right?

On Hamburg, On Ice Cream! On Cleeper, On Skits! On Plitter, On Pranky! On Carmellow, On ... help who's after that?
