To any home owners...have you ever heard indian drums in your basement before? it's not outside, i checked. It's inside but a slow sound like you would hear at a ceremony(sp) with an indian chief, shaman, and all that other stuff. Is it the pipes or something? Happened a while ago but i've recently been thinking of it, only heard it once. Was the same day something was running in my attic. Not an animal, the sound was a constant pattern in the same steps all the time and it kept me up all night, even when i was yelling at it like a crazy person. I only heard the attic noise and basement drum noise that 1 night in my whole 31 years at the house, minus the 3 i did not live here of course.

Is this a picture of your basement?

Has anyone here tried salvia divinorum (legal psychoactive)? If so, what was it like?

I've tried it once before, it's a really short high, like 5 minutes. Super intense visuals followed by an almost vertigo like feeling and loss of motor control. Apparently I only took a weak "dosage" not really sure how the stronger stuff would affect you.

I'm currently reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir. This might sound familiar to you because there's a Matt Damon movie coming out next month based on this book. It's such an interesting concept to me so I had to pick it up. Basically an astronaut gets accidentally left on Mars by his team and has to struggle to survive. The text takes the form of journal entries by the main character and since he's an astronaut, some of the language can get very technical. But it's a great lesson in problem solving and surprisingly hilarious at times. The supporting characters aren't really great but they're not that important anyway.

Thanks man. I've always been curious. More about personal discovery than partying from everything I've read.

So in the end while at the laundry mat yesterday (after another argument with the missus) I just put my jerseys on delicate (tumble dry) for 8 minutes. Upon inspection after the dryer stopped... they all looked fine. No lettering or number issues, no crest creases, etc.

I hope they didn't shrink though.

I like the UK version better than the US version of The Office.

I like season 1 of the UK version better than season 1 of the US version. When trying to do the same thing, the original did it better. But the next few seasons of the US version are on a whole other level of quality than the UK version. Imo.

Well said.

The training day episode from the UK is still one of the most amazing things ever though.

And now I've found rat droppings in the closet I've told them to inspect. My own trap was set there on Wednesday night. I left early Thursday for a wedding this weekend and returned on Saturday afternoon. My apartment door was locked a certain way that I never lock it so someone was definitely in there while I was out. I checked the closet and things were rearranged. And the trap was missing.

I returned Saturday night after going out and thought I heard something moving in the wall. I emailed the landlord then to let them know. No one was answering their phone this weekend, which is why I went the email route. Then, this morning at about 5:40 I heard movement in my ceiling. And just now I emailed them about the droppings as soon as I found them.

Think I'm building up enough of a case to break the lease? Rats are a health hazard.

I just looked into it a bit more. The rat(s) in my apartment like ramen.

I would certainly hope so.
