I like cats, but I'm allergic to them. So I don't like being near cats.

I used to be allergic to a lot of things, tried treatment, didn't work, ended up gracefully embracing dem little cat mothet****ers.

One word, psychosomatic.

Still avoid to mess around too much with the the long hair cats though, just too much saliva on them to fight off!

P.S. I still wash my hands after handling them. Also, their feces have been proven to attack human brains over time. You little neurotoxic balls of fur! :D

It was really bad when I was little. Hospitalized three times for allergy induced bronchitis or something like that. I could barely breathe. I got allergy shots for about 5 years. It was great for about 10. Then they came back. Not as bad, but it still sucks.

Maybe i stopped the shots too early but they were for multiple allergies, might have worked better if i concentrated on one or two. Look up the psychosomatic/allergies correlation, it's interesting.

At least cats don't have Komodo dragons' saliva!

Mine were for all kinds of stuff too.

And I don't think the psychosomatic stuff is what gets me. The worst cases of allergies I've ever had were places that had pets, but weren't there at the time. So I didn't know they had pets, but there was still hair and dander around. I'm not saying there's not a legit correlation, but I don't think its my issue.

Losers. I had a not so bad milk allergy that I outgrew and it was never that bad. I did have asthma, though... which I largely outgrew.

Cats are good but dogs are better. I might be biased because I have the perfect dog but I don't think so. Well, perfect for me.

I'm a she. :scared:

And I haven't needed an inhaler since around grade three or four. :pout: Closing in on a decade of no notable respiratory problems like a serious cough with phlegm, too. Bow down to my superiority.

One thing I'm awful with is pretty much anything classified as a drug. Benadryl, zoned out and angry. Gravol, zoned out rage monster. Anesthesia, I was a kid and the anesthesiologist was worried because I was behaving so badly, plus it took a lot to knock me out. Caffeine, elevated heart rate, can't sleep and feeling anxious for so many hours. On it goes, it's not an allergic reaction, but it is a ****show. I should never be given painkillers as an adult.

I've jinxed myself and will now have an asthma attack, probably brought on by caffeine.

Btw... What's up with the avatar?

I'ts JR looking confused by the world and like Cotton Hill. I think the Pens posted it at his first draft here, I was going to change it but he's been good lately.

ya, I just assumed you were an old white guy

I'm clearly successfully using the internet box.

sorry, at some point I'm sure I knew that. If I forget again, don't take it personally. I'm not very bright.

Eh, it's an internet thing where gender is assumed by where you're posting and this is a sports forum. No worries.

I prefer dogs to cats but my last 2 pets are cats because my area has lots of mice running around and cats are the best at getting rid of them.

Cats are a lazy ass person's pet. An animal that literally just needs you to fill its food bowl and empty its **** box. You are the animal's *****.

No thanks.

You're a weird dude.

What about a dog? You feed it and give it water, then you have to go outside and scoop it's ****. How is that different?

My cats are very energetic, playful, and want attention.

The good thing is we can leave for the weekend and not have to worry who is going to take care of our cats. My sister lives in Virginia and they have to bring the dog everywhere they go. It inconveniences everyone. So if cats are a lazy person's pet, dogs are for selfish people (I do love dogs though, it's just not in the cards yet).

Yeah, if you want a real pet, get a falcon so you can go hang-gliding with it! Or a mountain goat so you can go tandem, freestyle rock climbing!

None of this "take care of it, feed it, clean up after it" ****! REAL PETS ONLY.

Remember Benji? Great dog, Benji. He got lost that one time in that one movie.

Didn't they shoot at him, too? We had a blast watching Benji during movie day in grade school. I'm pretty sure there's a picture of Benji in the Loubre in Paris. Sit Benji, atta boy.

When everybody wants to pet you thats like the greatest treat for a dog. That dog was a star, he could go in to any New York restaurant and order anything and get it for free. That Benji. He could have been the Dean of any school. If only he could read.

Yeah, that sounds like an owner problem.

Only people who don't know anything about cats say this.

Re: allergies, I randomly developed an allergy to almonds about two years ago. It sucks because I like almonds and never remember the allergy when I accidentally start eating something with them in it.

Oh I agree

I was just using it as an example to show how stupid Honor's post was. If you aren't a cat person, that's cool, but to call it a lazy person's pet is illogical.

I hate cats, it doesn't mean I feel everyone else should. I have friends that own a cat and I am glad they own a cat because if they owned any other pet, it'd die from them not taking care of it.

I personally like Dogs.
