Sicne 2018-2019 season (so 6 full seasons, + now a 7th started) he's 7th in overall points, and 9th in ppg (0.02 ppg out of 6th).

I voted yes. Consistently an elite regular season performer. Yes - still leaves to be desired in playoffs, but he's not as bad as people claim. In past 3 years - he has been 1.0 ppg in playoffs, good for 15th in league.

No, he’s as bad as people claim and just using his playoff ppg doesn’t paint the whole picture at all. The guy is abysmal in the post-season.

I'm not saying he's great in the playoffs or anything. Just that he's not as bad as people say.

No - he doesn't take over games, let alone series, or put a team on his back. But - he still has produced points. There are worst playoff performers.

I think his regular season resume is strong enough to make him a top 20 player overall.

Top 30 sounds fair.
Top 15 amongst forwards.

But there are too many excellent defensemen and goalies to have him top 20 overall.
Hughes, Fox, Makar, Josi, Hedman, McAvoy, Heiskenan, etc.
Vasi, Helle, Shestyerkin, Bob, etc.

The guy is abysmal in the post-season.

He's a career 0.88 PPG in the playoffs. Not great by any means, but certainly not "abysmal".

By comparison, Nylander is at 0.80 PPG post-season and is regularly praised as the only "core 4" that delivers in the playoffs. So yeah, Mitch gets more heat than he deserves.

Top 20 player? Last 3 seasons: 99, 95, 85 points. Rightly puts him outside the top 10 but a pretty strong case for the top 20.

No, just stop with the PPG. We've all seen how he does in the playoffs and that still meager PPG doesn't illustrate how bad he has been. He's one of the main reasons the Leafs made it past the first round just once and you guys are trying to gaslight us with that PPG as if we hadn't seen him for ourselves over the past few years.

He's as bad as people say. Have you actually bothered watching him? The guy is completely invisible and soft as melted butter. He's no Nylander who can still have an impact even without the puck and he certainly doesn't score or contribute in key moments.

This is why looking at stats sheets and drawing a conclusion is flawed.

Probably, it depends how you prioritise wingers in a list of 20 against top flight dmen and goaltenders though.

He’s easily a top winger in the game.

Beautiful B.C.
I dont think "yes, easily" but I also dont flat out think "no, X instead", its kinda both.

He is a top 20 player in the NHL at times during a season, even higher in my opinion, and there are other times where other players step up above him or he plays below certain players and makes him more of a top 30 guy.

If you start to list all the franchise C’s and Dmen 1st you most likely can’t have Marner in the top20

When there’s wingers like Kucherov, Rantanen, Kaprizov etc in the league as well and couple of goalies

Do you seriously have nothing in between "yes, easily" and "no"?

People who can't make polls shouldn't make them. A poll's options should encompass all possibilities.

For example:

"Yes, easily."
"Yes, barely."
"No, top 25"
"No, top 35"
"No, top 50"
"No, outside top 50"

That's a correctly made poll.

I'd say he's a top 10 winger and a top 15 forward, but if you add defensemen and goalies to the mix, he falls short of the top 20.

I'd say he's comfortably in the top 10-15 of forwards so it's more so a question of do the defenseman and goaltenders of the league push him outside the top 20.
Kaprisov
Mackinnon
Rantanen
Mcdavid
Drasaitl
Pasternak
Matthews
Eichel
Kucherov
Reinhardt
Panarin
J.hughes

There is no way you could have marner ahead of anyone I just listed, he’s outside top 10 forwards

Overall I'd agree. Hughes is debatable.

Defenseman for sure ahead would be

Makar
Hughes
Fox
Hieskanen
Josi
McAvoy

For Goalies only locks I'd say are

Helly
Shesterkin

That puts him him just outside the top 20 and there's still some names out there you could argue for.
