So I know this is apropos of nothing on here, but another Sean Avery rant slamming the team surfaced on Twitter today.

Sean, shut the f*** up. Take your mouth, and shut it all the way up. Please. I am begging you.

You had one and half good years in the NHL.

And yes, I pick on the team, and they probably deserve it. But we've established that I'm fat and talentless, and dammit, watching it is what I'm good it.

It rubs me the wrong way when nothing ass players rip on other players.

You scored 90 goals in ten years. You couldn't do anything your smug ass is telling them to do.

The lads making a combined 1.85 million dollars.
This is a very underrated aspect of this team. Edstrom and Carrick are legit 4th liners. Vesey doesn't have to try and salvage it from Goodrow anymore.

One thing Drury has had control over fully is 3rd pair and 4th line. This iteration is good. Jones is playing solid, Edstrom is fitting in. Cuylle going up a level. Makes me trust what is bubbling up.

Some people don't know how to leave their past behind. It's been this way for him since he retired. He'd be the guy showing up to his old work place just to look in.....maybe even pitch a hand. You wonder why the guy left at all but we all know it's really because he burned all his bridges.

I liked Sean for the most part as a Rangers player. That said he needs to let it go. I don't like him very much as a retired player. It's to the point now where it's GTFO!

Everyone knows at least a couple people in their life who are just not particularly awesome human beings.

They get angry at a moments notice, which seeps into social relationships and makes family life untenable.

They are hypocritical, holding others to a standard that they don't follow, and seem willfully oblivious to the inconsistency.

They have extremely strong attitudes and prejudices about people based on descriptive characteristics.

They often treat women as lesser, more often than not because social roles about politeness and lack of confrontation make them easier targets who don't push back.

They're very happy to tell other people how to live, but recoil when offered the same unsolicited advice that they so often spout.

And yes, a lot of them also like to get a few drinks in and talk about the glory days until no one is left at the bar willing to listen to them.

They'd prefer to bully and use ad hominems in discussions when the yfeel challenged.

Beneath all of it is typically a dee lying insecurity, which just happens to manifest itself in the most obnoxious way possible.

People like Sean Avery and DeAngelo are not people that should be respected, listened to, or looked up to. Sean is a drunk, a leaguewide clown/embarassment, and I wouldn't leave him a dollar in my will if he was my own stepchild.

We need the Twitter docs on the Chytil video, doesn't help that MSG refuses to show other angles.

Slowing down the clip I don't think Miller's elbow got Fil in jaw or head. Looked more like Front shoulder. However, Fil had a huge whiplash which is bad for both head and neck.

Hoping he had the air knocked out of him. There's no way they force him off the ice just to clear him for return. Then again, maybe he's gone through enough concussion tests to wing it. Who knows. Just really hope he's OK. His energy and enthusiasm this year has been great and it would be demoralizing if this is how it goes.

Sucks about Chytil. I thought he was doing a great job protecting himself this year, unfortunately he didnt expect to get elbowed by his own man. Miller with his head in the clouds again. Hopefully after the west coast swing he is back. 14 games in last year. 15 games in this year. Unreal.

The team played well tonight after the first period. Similar to how they played against Winnipeg which i also thought was solid outside of a few guys having bad games. The same issues persist though. The team is unwatchable a lot of the time. The crowd is always out of it because the players arent ready to play when the puck is dropped. The leadership on the team is subpar. Or at least not to the level of a Cup winner. Congrats to Mika for scoring a goal against the worst team in the league though. Trade Miller for a center.

It's a good meme, but Yankees and Rangers aren't really a great comparison ... at least not in the championship department.

I think the position they both find themselves in is very similar. 2 teams whose fanbases no longer care about just making the playoffs. Its championship or bust and both fanbases are smart enough to notice that the way the teams have been built are not good enough to beat the best teams deep in the playoffs.

Who are we complaining about today? Mika after that game is off the table, right? Defense pairs were all good. Shesty didn't give up 5.

Oh yeah the best 3rd line center in the league (probably) is no longer in the league (probably)

I like Avery's breakdowns. The only guy in the Rangers universe willing to tell the truth publicly. He has correctly identified that Mika and Miller are the main problems with the team. He knows puck.

Ok, so maybe we need a third criterion, eye test and a 4th strength of team, and finally winning by a wide margin.

We will complain unless we do all of the following:

1) Win

2) Look good analytically

3) Pass the eye test

4) Beat a great team

5) Win in blowout fashion
The minimum criteria for minimal complaints are:

When playing an average or bad team we have VERY strict rules and require all of the following:
good analytics for EVERY period
blowout win
majority of goals cannot be scored in the 3rd period
no more than two non 5 on 5 goals allowed regardless of total goals scored

Anything less is complete fail.

When playing a good team we are relatively more lenient:
just good analytics combined with a win

Pretty routine sh*t-play-get-2-points game, maybe a little wobblier than usual. We still have issues in all 3 zones, but at least there are a lot of teams that give us plenty of time and space in the ozone during the regular season.

Avery is a clown and this is coming from some one who liked him as a Ranger. All he is doing is picking the lowest hanging fruit.

Fil being hurt is a nightmare scenario. Legitimately the only forward consistently driving his line all season.

I know it was an awkward play but does Miller have that little awareness that he couldn't react and try and do anything other than elbowing Chytil in the head?

That last shift is still bugging me. Kreider moving in cement, locked knees, literally waving at the puck in the air like it's warmups. Miller just standing still watching, Mika completely out of position. It's a one goal game and you're just giving them the zone and letting them get to the net. What type of effort is that? Is there anyone on this team with the right mentality right now? They'll get in the locker room and talk to the media about needing to play 60 minutes as they're lollygagging at the start to every game and then last night in the last minute of a one goal game.
